  • Patent number: 5542776
Abstract: A connector device freely secures a hydraulic hose to a wireline and comprises a generally cylindrical clamping body having an axial passage therethrough. The clamping body is formed having first and second semi-cylindrical body members which are permitted to pivotally move between an open and a closed position. A clamping assembly secures the first and second body members in the closed position. A closure assembly releasably and freely attaches the cylindrical clamping body to the wireline. The closure assembly includes a plurality of rotatably-mounted rollers surrounding the enclosed wireline W and provides substantially frictionless relative movement of the connector device along the wireline.

  • Patent number: 5533826
Abstract: A clamping arrangement includes a support bracket and a clamping assembly. The clamping assembly includes a clamp sub-assembly having distal and proximal ends. The clamp sub-assembly includes first and second clamp components, each including a cut-out defined in a periphery thereof at an end surface thereof. The cut-outs cooperate to define a guide rail receiving channel for frictionally engaging and holding a guide rail therein. A threaded rod is disposed through the clamp sub-assembly. A control knob is coupled to one end of the rod. The clamping assembly further includes locking structure threadedly coupled to the other end of the rod. The support bracket is constructed and arranged to be mounted to a portion of the conveyor system and includes a receiving channel therein. The locking structure cooperates with the receiving channel so as to adjustably mount the clamping assembly laterally with respect to the support bracket.

  • Patent number: 5509636
Abstract: A retainer clip for use with concrete form tie for retention of reinforcing rods has a one-piece body which includes a header, and first and second clips extending angularly therefrom, spaced apart in a first direction, and defining therebetween a generally u-shaped opening sized to slidably receive a reinforcing rod of generally circular cross section. Each of the clips include first and second prongs spaced apart in directions lateral to the first direction, and at least two prongs of the clips further define therebetween a narrow generally rectangular passage which intersects at least a portion of the u-shaped opening, and is sized to receive at least a notched form tie of generally narrow rectangular cross section. The retainer clip secures the reinforcing rod in position substantially against the form tie in a notch to inhibit both relative motion in the first direction and substantial separation therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5468092
Abstract: A clamp for securing together sections of conduit has a first clamping section and a second clamping section. Each clamping section is made up of a base portion and a connecting plate which extends from the base portion. The connecting plates each have a through-hole formed therethrough and are aligned so that a bolt may be inserted. The bolt pivotally connects the first and second clamping sections together. A pair of U-clamps are provided and secure each respective conduit section to its associated clamping section. The sections of conduit are secured within the clamping sections so as to be in a plane parallel to each other while being adjustable to any desired angle. • Patent number: 5427465
Abstract: A clamp fitment includes a pair of holding members each capable of clamping a pipe section, a coupler mounted between both the holding members for relatively rotatably but unseparatably coupling the holding members, and a lock mechanism mounted between both the holding members for restraining the relative rotation of the holding members at any time in positions in which the pipe sections clamped in the holding members intersect each other at right angles. The single clamp fitment for connecting the pipe sections can be used properly as either of "swivel type" in which the angle of intersection of the pipe sections can be freely selected and "orthogonal type" for unifying the pipe sections in a square fashion. This eliminates the need for a worker to carry two kinds of clamp fitments to a working field, leading to simplified handling and management of the clamp fitment.

The scaffold coupler, which is of resilient plastics, includes a hand lever 13 which is hinged to a jaw 12 that closes upon a base member 11 to clamp tight a scaffolding tube 15. A hook member 14 hinged to the lever 13 engages with a lip 19 of the member 11 so that depression of the lever 13 urges the jaw 12 hard onto the tube 15 and actuates the clamping mechanism by pulling the hook-hinge 22 through `over-center` alignment with the lever-jaw hinge 21 and the hook-lip engagement `hinge` 23. • Patent number: 5181355
Abstract: A frame for a projection screen or the like may be fabricated of elongated round tubular members running one direction and polygonal (preferably rectangular) cross section members running in the other direction connected together into a grid by clamps at their intersections. The clamps are parallel plates affixed to the parallel surfaces of the polygonal support members and have a rounded groove in an edge generally conforming to the rounded cross section. Clamp means to hold the round members in the grooves are conveniently formed of U-bolts which are secured to flanges generally normal to the planar surfaces of the bracket. The frame is particularly useful for compound curved surfaces including generally spherical domes. In such configurations the rectangular elongated support members are arranged as latitudes and the round section members as longitudes outside of the rectangular members.

  • Patent number: 4566819
Abstract: A clamp arrangement for use in interconnecting structural members such as those used in scaffolding and shoring framework comprises two clamps which can be interconnected for either rotation between the clamps or fixed positioning of the clamps in at least one predetermined position. The clamps in the area of interconnection have portions which are adapted to be secured to position the clamps in the corresponding predetermined fixed relative position. A securing device cooperates with the clamp portions for securing them to fix the clamps in the corresponding predetermined relative position.

  • Patent number: 4487523
Abstract: The present invention provides a clamp which can be used to secure an accessory member to an abductor bar of an orthopedic-surgical table. The clamp includes a clamp block pivotally mounted on the clamp and oriented with respect to the clamp to clamp an object therebetween. A lever having a cam surface is mounted on the clamp so that the cam surface coacts with the internal mechanism of the clamp to orient the clamp block in an unclamped, intermediate and clamped position. When the clamp is in the intermediate position, the clamp loosely engages the clamped object so that relative motion of the clamp and clamped object can occur. Because the clamp can be stabilized on the clamped object by orienting it in the intermediate position the operator does not need to use a second hand to prevent the clamp from falling off the clamped object while the first hand positions and tightens the clamp. Thus, the clamp can be secured to the clamped object in a one handed operation.

  • Patent number: 4443128
Abstract: A fixing device comprising a first clamp for clamping a mount and a second clamp which is adapted to be clamped to a stationary member. The second clamp is operatively connected to the first clamp by a tubular coupling member so that each clamp may be manually rotatable about an axis which is substantially perpendicular to the axial direction of each of the clamps. The clamps are held in position by a bolt-and-nut arrangement extending through the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4355922
Abstract: A clamp for scaffolding and temporary building and similarly acting fittings in which the curvatures of the pipe carrier and the pipe holder forming the clamp for receiving and holding the pipes are determined at a substantially intermediate value among the curvatures of the pipes of different diameters and a bolt embracer provided at the free end of the pipe holder is substantially directed to a radial direction of the circle formed by the pipe carrier and the pipe holder of the clamp, thereby averting the nut from slipping off the bolt embracer and securing a positive clamping effect.

  • Patent number: 4275872
Abstract: A clamping apparatus is provided which is adapted to selectively secure two elongate members in a predetermined positional relationship. The apparatus includes a U-shaped clamping block, with an opening receiving a mounting post therethrough. A second opening extends through the arms of the clamping block, and a bolt-like clamping member is disposed through the second opening and has a knob threadedly positioned thereon. The head of the clamping member is slotted and includes a third opening receiving a stop rod therethrough. Also, cooperating frusto-conical surfaces are provided in the second opening of the clamping block and adjacent the head of the clamping member, whereby the tightening of the knob on the clamping member serves to concurrently clamp the post in the opening of the clamping block and the rod in the opening in the head of the clamping member.
