Abstract: An adjustable squaring tool for measuring and marking angles includes a pivot arm pivotally coupled between first and second sections of a main member. The pivot arm having a graduated arcuate measurement arm extending from the pivot arm through a channel in the main member. The pivot arm having a cylinder coupled to an end of the pivot arm. The main member includes a drum passing through the cylinder. The cylinder has a plurality of radially spaced apertures corresponding to the gradations of the measurement arm. The drum includes at least one spring biased bearing positioned for engaging apertures in the cylinder as the cylinder rotates around the drum. A locking assembly is provided for clamping the pivot arm between the first and second sections of the main member to lock the pivot arm relative to the main member. • Patent number: 6296415
Abstract: A cam style hub and strut system for use in single panel fabric, cloth, or plastic units, or structures with an unlimited number of wall and/or roof panels. The purpose of the cam style hub is to compensate for certain fabric characteristics and to allow easier setup of structures containing flexible or rigid support struts connected to a central hub by lessening the distance of the diametrically opposing struts during assembly, and applying the force necessary to engage the self-supporting structure by engaging the cam, increasing the distance between the ends of the opposing struts. The amount the distance is increased can be dictated by materials used and the size of the panel. The hub may contain an optional “locking” feature activated when the hub cam is engaged for convenience and safety reasons. The principle can be used with any number of struts greater than one.

  • Publication number: 20010004431
Abstract: A coupling apparatus for adjustably mounting modular tooling members having a base member releasably connectable to a slide mount wherein said base member is adjustably located along a predetermined path of travel defined by the slide mount. The base member is rotatably adjustable with respect to a midportion via a pair of matingly engaging contoured surfaces. In a preferred embodiment, the midportion may also be rotatably adjustable with respect to an end member along a second rotational axis. The midportion and the end member may be adjustably rotated through a pair of contoured surfaces substantially similar to that provided between the midportion and the base member. The end member provides an aperture for releasably connecting a boom rod to the end member. In an alternative embodiment, the midportion is integrally connected to the end member wherein the end member provides an aperture for matingly engaging a first spline rod. The first spline rod may be rotatably adjusted about a second rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 6220125
Abstract: A ratchet wrench is provided with an angle adjusting device having drive head, a handle, and a button. The drive head is provided at one end thereof with a pivoting end. The handle is provided at one end thereof with two pivoting lugs for fastening the pivoting end of the drive head. The handle is further provided at one end thereof with a receiving slot for receiving the button in conjunction with a spring and a steel ball. The button is provided with an eccentric slot for receiving the spring, a notch corresponding in location to the ball-locating slots of the pivoting end of the drive head, and an inclined plane. The button is urged by the spring such that the steel ball is forced by the inclined plane of the button to locate in one of the ball-locating slots of the pivoting end of the drive head. As the button is pressed, the steel ball is located in the notch of the button to enable the drive head to be adjusted angularly in relation to the handle.
