Patent number: 4986374Abstract: An apparatus for driving an upwardly directed shaft in rock, which includes a platform that can be regulated in height. The platform carries a drilling unit having engageable elements enabling fixation of the drilling unit relative the wall of the shaft. The drilling unit and platform can be separated a given distance such as to form an air gap for preventing the transfer of vibrations from the drilling unit to the platform when a drilling machine pertaining to the drilling unit is in operation. The apparatus has bracket elements and a transverse member for limiting the separation distance between the drilling unit and platform. The platform carries a work station for a drilling machine operator.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1990Date of Patent: January 22, 1991Assignee: Gruvprodukter I Gallivare ABInventors: Ingemar Niemi, Lars-Erik Andersson

Patent number: 4818025Abstract: A self-propelled mining vehicle is disclosed which is self supporting above the floor of a mine tunnel. The vehicle is adapted to be supported above the floor of the mine tunnel such that conventional rock removing vehicles are operable therebeneath. The vehicle has an elongated carrier or frame having a mining apparatus mounted at one end. Four transverse bracing cap assemblies are included, and are adapted to engage side walls of a mine tunnel for supporting the carrier above the tunnel floor. Four suspension links extend downwardly from each cap assembly for suspending the carrier beneath the cap assemblies. The suspension links are longitudinally movable with respect to the carrier and cap assemblies for causing movement of the carrier and cap assemblies relative to one another. With such a construction, the vehicle is able to hold its position above a mine tunnel floor without contacting the floor.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1986Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Hecla Mining CompanyInventors: Mandius C. Patent number: 4280771Abstract: An apparatus for distributing concrete, especially in the shuttering of gallery linings in mining and tunnel workings, comprises a transportable distribution mast carrying an articulated conduit for conveying concrete which is pivoted on a column which can rotate around its axis. The mast comprises a swivel extension forming the end section thereof, and a main boom which connects the column to the swivel extension, the swivel extension being foldable from above onto the main boom. The main boom is divided into several mast sections joined together by power-operated pivotal connections so that the mast is articulatable in a swivel plane containing the column axis, the range of relative pivotal movement between the mast sections being such that the main boom may be extended upwardly and forwardly from the folded position of the mast sections, with the swivel extension in its folded position, the power-operated pivotal connections of the main boom being disposed below the folded swivel extension.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1978Date of Patent: July 28, 1981Assignee: Friedrich Wilh.
