  • Patent number: 7497909
Abstract: This invention relates generally to the application of a sprayed insulation mixture, and more particularly to an apparatus and method for applying the sprayed mixture in high reach areas of extended elevation and removing any excess mixture therefrom. In one embodiment of a system for spraying an insulation mixture into a cavity and removing any excess mixture therefrom, the system preferably comprises a lift defining upper end lower ends, with the upper end of the lift being adjustably movable between lowered and raised positions. An insulation applicator is located on the lift proximal to the upper end for spraying the insulation mixture into the cavity. The applicator may be rotatably connected to the lift and driven to move in a reciprocating, sweeping motion. A scrubber is also located on the lift, preferably above the applicator, for removing or scrubbing any excess insulation from the cavity.

  • Patent number: 6591974
Abstract: A spout is used for confining the grain flow from an auger. The auger may be a combine, grain cart unloading auger or a grain auger. The spout includes a chute that mounts on the auger tube. An overflow opening in the chute allows grain or other matter to flow out of the spout if the outlet of the chute is plugged. This prevents filling and overloading of the auger and consequent auger damage.

  • Patent number: 5590984
Abstract: In a method and a system for installing loose insulation, loose wool is transported, in compacted state and packed in e.g. filled bags (12), to the site where the insulation operation is to be performed and where loose wool (11) received from the bags is mechanically fluffed, and where the fluffed loose wool is transported by blowing it through a hose (15) to the location where it is to be placed; and the loose wool supplied through the hose (15) is spread on said location in the desired configuration. The novelty of the invention resides in that the bags (12) containing loose wool first are so arranged as to be able, successively and in a controlled manner, to discharge the compacted loose wool contained therein for automatic fluffing and onward blowing through the hose, whereupon from the location where the spreading of loose wool takes place, the discharge of compacted loose wool from the bags is remote-controlled in connection with the spreading, whereby the method can be carried out by a single operator.

  • Patent number: 5556237
Abstract: A truck including a container used to transport and dispense loose particulate materials. A moving floor is located on the floor of the container to move loose particulate materials within the container into a feeder and dispensing system. The container includes two opposing augers mounted on the inner surface of a rear door of the container. The augers feed loose particulate material within the container to a mixer. The mixer helps to break up the loose particulate material to keep it from bridging as it drops into a feeder. The feeder regulates the flow of loose particulate material into a mixing chamber. A high volume air blower is connected to the mixing chamber. The blower forces a high volume of air through the mixing chamber and out of the mixing chamber into an attached hose. As loose particulate material drops into the mixing chamber, it mixes with the air flow and is blown out of the attached hose.

  • Patent number: 5035543
Abstract: Material transfer apparatus comprises a vacuum source for drawing material entrained in a first fluid stream through an inlet conduit into a separation chamber, a valve for transferring material collected in the chamber to an inlet of a first section of an outlet conduit and a pressure source for pushing material entrained in a second fluid stream from the valve and through the outlet conduit. The outlet conduit carries the material entrained in the second fluid stream from the air lock to an elevated material outlet, the conduit comprising the first section and further second and third sections. The substantially rigid first section leads from the air lock to a flexible, curved second section, and a substantially rigid third section leads from the second section to the elevated material outlet. The first and third sections are connected by a hinge member including a locking device for fixing the angle between the first and third sections and permitting the height of the material outlet to be varied.

  • Patent number: 4941777
Abstract: Apparatus for conveying material between two terminals using a reversible blower system that conveys a carrier member through a tube by suction from one terminal to an intermediate location and by pneumatic pressure from the intermediate location to the other terminal, and vice versa. The carrier member is gradually retarded and stopped at each terminal by a yieldable plate inclined into the path of the carrier member with a yieldable latching element urging the plate inwardly and also serving to latch the carrier member in its ultimate terminal position. The tube has separately manipulatable, open-ended, end portions in which the carrier member is retained for manipulation into position for receiving or discharging its contents. Covers on the carrier member are automatically removed and replaced at each terminal by radially movable latching elements on the cover that are manipulated by an axially movable central unlatching element.

  • Patent number: 4715722
Abstract: From a device (46) for opening pressed bales of fiber material set up in a row (39, 40), the opened fiber material is conveyed pneumatically (55) to a hopper feeder (1). A receiving chamber (13) and upwardly extending inclined spiked feed lattice (3) are provided in hopper feeder (1) for delivering fiber to a processing machine via outlet (8). The delivery of the fiber material, removed continuously from the row of bales, to receiving chamber (13) of hopper feeder (1) is performed transversely to the latter, and in parallel to spiked feed lattice (3). In another embodiment a filling chamber (13a) may be advantageously compartmentalized by transverse walls (57, 58) and provided with a bottom conveyor (56). Fiber is removed in a height direction from a longitudinal face of the fiber bed formed in filling chamber (13a) of fiber feeding device (19).

  • Patent number: 4237619
Abstract: A process and apparatus for fluidized bed operations wherein the fluidized bed includes an upper fluidized zone and a lower fluidized zone, with each of the upper and lower fluidized zones equipped with agitating means therein. Positioned intermediate the upper and lower fluidized zones are a plurality of tubular zones. Substantially parallel to the fluidized zones is a discharge leg positioned to receive fluidized solids from the lower fluidized zone in which the fluidized solids are fluidized in the leg at a level substantially equal to the level of fluidized solids in the upper zone whereby a portion of the solids can be removed from a repositionable discharge means in the discharge leg.
