  • Patent number: 11745959
Abstract: A pneumatic distribution system for an agricultural machine includes an air source having an outlet, an assembly configured to receive agricultural material from a material source, and a plurality of conduits. Each conduit is configured to receive an air stream from the outlet for conveying a portion of the agricultural material to at least one device associated with the agricultural machine. A first one of conduits corresponds to a first distribution line and is positioned such that the first conduit receives a first air stream from a first area of the outlet, a second one of the conduits corresponds to a second distribution line and is positioned such that the second conduit receives a second air stream from a second area of the outlet having a lower air pressure than the first area, and the first distribution line has a higher pressure drop than the second distribution line.

  • Patent number: 6109837
Abstract: In a pneumatic conveyor for coins comprising a plurality of conduits leading from a plurality of payment points, a common conduit into which said plurality of conduits feed, a separator receiving coins from said common conduit and separating said coins from air, suction means for creating a suction in said common conduit and said plurality of conduits to convey coins to said separator, and a storage receptacle for receiving coins from said separator; the improvement comprising a sealing means for opening and closing concealing means disposed in each of said plurality of conduits for opening each of said plurality of conduits only when a coin enters one of said plurality of conduits and for closing the associated said one of said plurality of conduits after said coin has passed said sealing means, thereby to preserve said vacuum both in said plurality of conduits downstream of said sealing means and in said common conduits.

  • Patent number: 5374141
Abstract: Mat forming apparatus comprising, in combination, a hollow material transporting member, drive structure for producing a pressure differential across spaced portions of the transporting member so that material is propelled from one of the spaced portions to the other within the hollow transporting member, material directing structure communicating with the drive structure for receiving material from the hollow transporting structure and, responsive to the drive structure, operative to direct the received material in a predetermined path, the hollow transporting member having a non-linear inner surface so that flow in the hollow transporting member is turbulent causing the material being transported therein to experience turbulent flow in being propelled from one of the spaced portions to the other, and structure associated with the material directing structure for receiving the material and confining the received material in a defined space.

  • Patent number: 5147156
Abstract: In a new method for the placement of sand, gravel or equivalent particulate material onto a sand trap, tee, putting green or other selected area of a golf course for construction or maintenance purposes, sand or other particulate material is pneumatically transported through a flexible conduit from an off-load site remote to the selected area to a nozzle positioned at the selected area and is sprayed from the nozzle onto the selected area. The new method eliminates the labor intensive prior method of wheelbarrowing sand or gravel from the off-load site to the selected site and the need then to rake or hoe the sand or gravel to properly spread it about the selected area.

  • Patent number: 4784561
Abstract: The feed device comprises a housing (10) of sufficient size to contain a cylindrical piece (15), equipped with a removable cover (20), through which passes a nozzle (24) connected to a compressed-air distribution source (25, 26). A flexible pipe (11) is fastened at one of its ends to the housing (10). A loading unit (12) consisting of a fixed part (28) and of a rotary arm (29) is connected to the end of the flexible pipe (11) opposite the housing (10). The pieces (15) can, in particular, be plugs for plugging the tubes of a steam generator of a pressurized-water nuclear reactor.

  • Patent number: 4573849
Abstract: A spout aiming control system for a forage harvester includes a sweep mode wherein the spout is automatically moved to provide even wagon filling under certain conditions. A magnetic pickup senses rotation of the forage harvester feed rolls. A disable system prevents operation of the sweep mode unless the feed rolls are rotating faster than a threshold rotation speed. A warning signal is generated if the pickup signal indicates that the feed rolls are not rotating and the pickup has an open circuit condition.

  • Patent number: 4529348
Abstract: A spout control system permits automatic and manual control of a forage harvester spout which directs crop to a receiving wagon. Under certain conditions, the control system automatically sweeps the spout in a stepwise manner through a series of positions to achieve uniform wagon filling. This and other functions are achieved with the use of a suitably programmed microprocessor.

  • Patent number: 4316681
Abstract: A blending equipment mounted on the ceiling of a blending bin has a conveyor airduct for introducing materials or raw cotton from the exterior of the blending bin into the interior thereof. The conveyor airduct has a lower end with which one end of a spreader outlet is communicated, the other end of the spreader outlet being opened laterally within the blending bin. The opening of the spreader outlet turns round a vertical axis. A lower member of the spreader outlet defining the opening is moved up and down. Rotation of the spreader outlet and oscillation of the lower member of the spreader outlet are effected simultaneously. Thus, the materials fed into the blending bin through the conveyor airduct are evenly scattered from the opening of the spreader outlet not only at a position below the blending equipment but also set positions more remote therefrom.
