Abstract: An improved drafting instrument is provided for scribing small dots on a drafting medium comprising a substrate provided with a removable surface coating. The drafting instrument includes a drive motor and rotatable cutter which are slidably mounted as a unit for vertical movement toward and away from the drafting medium. A manually operable actuator is provided for moving the drive motor downward to bring the cutter into engagement with the surface coating of the drafting medium. A control switch responds to downward movement of the drive motor and cutter by a predetermined distance for automatically actuating the drive motor before the cutter is moved into engagement with the drafting medium. The drafting instrument includes an adjustable depth limit feature to control the depth of penetration of the cutter into the surface coating of the drafting medium. The operation of the drive motor and rotation of the cutter are automatically terminated when manual pressure on the actuator is released.

Abstract: A tool guide, particularly for an electric hand drill, to affix to a drill and guide it in drilling a hole perpendicular to a surface. The guide has drill holding means which incorporates a manually adjustable locking mechanism which allows for the ready accommodation of drill bits of different sizes. The guide has also drill fixing means onto its drill holding means to instantly, firmly and independently hold the guide onto the drill during operation.
Abstract: A drill stop which includes a conically shaped nosepiece facing the drilling surface, the nosepiece having a hole coaxially disposed therein providing a slip fit with the drill diameter. The conically shaped nosepiece retains a coaxially disposed steel spring to soften the shock of drill point breakthrough in drilled material. A bushing sleeve at the end of the steel spring opposite the nosepiece retains the steel spring in position while the end of the bushing sleeve opposite the steel spring-retaining end provides a press fit for one end of a spacer tube, the other end of the spacer tube contacting the drill chuck jaws.
Abstract: This invention relates to a drilling apparatus which is specially designed to facilitate accurate drilling within close quarters, such as about one-half inch or less, of another surface, for example drilling close to the corner of a wall. The drilling apparatus of this invention may be operated either manually or by power means.
Abstract: A universal mounting portable electric drill angle drilling attachment comprising a base, angularly adjustable spring return upright, angle indicia, and drill clamping means.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an adaptor for a countersinking device and inces a pair of plates disposed in generally parallel relationship to each other and being relatively movable between minimum and maximum distances, the first plate carrying a countersinking tool, the second plate having an aperture in alignment with the countersinking tool, means normally urging the plates toward their relative position of maximum spacing, and adjustable stop means for limiting the relative movement of the plates toward their minimum position of relative spacing.

Abstract: A hammer drill is provided with an accessory that is rotatably supported on the chuck of the drill and has a handle fixed to the support rotatable on the drill chuck. Structure is provided forming a throughgoing passage extending from the tool through the handle to the outer end of the handle and a flexible conduit is connected to this handle at the outer end thereof for drawing gas and particles from the tool through the passage. The structure may surround an intermediate portion of the tool at the radial opening of an axial bore through the tool so that particles and the like can be aspirated directly through the tool. Alternately a telescoping tube is provided connected at its rear end to the passage at the support and at its front end to a cup through whose base the drill passes, so that this cup is pressed against the workpiece during the drilling operation.

Abstract: A reliable, inexpensive drill attachment for positioning a portable power drill relative to an article to be drilled includes adjustable means for aligning the attachment relative to the axis of the drill and an improved base for supporting the drill to accurately align and hold the drill axis in a normal position relative to a flat surface to be drilled or to a cylindrical or compound curved surface such as a spherical surface. A plurality of feet are positioned at various locations on the base to enable the attachment to adapt to various surfaces.
Abstract: A boring tool guide device is disclosed in which there is included a standardized power source connector suitable for coupling with a moving power source, a boring tool, surfaces to mate with jigs and fixtures, a pre-set depth control spacer, and yieldable means for automatic retraction of the boring tool from the work piece.

Abstract: A rotary cutting device for removing spot welds includes an upper body section telescoping into a lower body section and a cutting bit secured in the upper body section and extending through the lower body section. The cutting bit has a flat cutting end so that a spot weld can be completely removed from one metal piece while causing no damage to the metal piece it is welded to. An expansion spring yieldably holds the cutting bit away from cutting engagement with a work piece when not in use. A stop means is provided for controllably limiting the potential downward movement of the cutting bit during use. Two pointed projections extend from the distal cutting end of the device for engaging the work piece to keep the device in proper alignment with the spot weld during cutting.
Abstract: A drill apparatus for providing a drain hole in curbing comprises a core drill mounted for longitudinal movement along a horizontal post held between a drill frame and a hooking member positioned in hooking relation with the curb. The horizontal post is tightened in compression while a pair of chains extend between the hooking member and the drill frame for holding the frame in firm contact with the curbing.
Abstract: A drill guide for supporting a power drill in a predetermined relation to intersecting bench marks on the base of the drill guide by means of which it may be accurately positioned for a drilling operation characterized in that it is provided with an adapter for receiving power drills of various kinds and size and which enables removing and replacing the power drill after an initial adjustment without readjustment in relation to the bench marks.
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting work provided with centering means and supported adjacent a housing drivably mounted for rotation on a frame, the housing being arranged to support a floating, cutting assembly having a cutting head and centering means for initial alignment with the centering means on the work and subsequent cutting of the metal by the cutting head to remove an annular portion of material from the work.
