With Means To Rotate Scroll Patents (Class 408/176)
  • Patent number: 11931816
Abstract: A thread-cutting die head includes a die carrier, defining a central axis, for supporting a plurality of thread-cutting dies, a cam plate coaxial with the die carrier including a plurality of cam members for engaging with the plurality of thread-cutting dies, and a locking system including a positioning screw extending through an arcuate slot in the cam plate, a bushing surrounding the positioning screw, and a handle threadably coupled to the positioning screw configured to impart a force against the bushing to press the flange portion of the bushing against the first surface of the cam plate, thereby developing a frictional force between the bushing and the cam plate to lock the rotational position of the cam plate relative to the die carrier.

  • Patent number: 10946488
Abstract: A fixture to hold a workpiece comprising, among other things, a housing having a passage opening into which a clamping pin is inserted for supporting the workpiece; a driving ring mounted in the housing; and at least two locking pins facing the axis of the opening, mounted radially in the housing so as to be able to move, wherein the clamping pin is locked in the opening of the housing when the locking pins are moved toward the axis, and released from the passage opening of the housing when the locking pins are moved away from axis; wherein, a control surface with at least two different pitches is worked onto an inside of the driving ring, and a contact surface is worked onto an inner wall of the driving ring so as to permit movement of the locking pins by rotation of the driving ring.

  • Patent number: 9283645
Abstract: The invention concerns a centring device for centring a chuck on a securing portion in particular of a rotating spindle of a machine, wherein a tapered portion corresponding to a mating tapered portion on the chuck side is provided on the securing portion in such a way that the tapered portion and/or the mating tapered portion is/are formed so as to yield elastically in the axial direction such that, after the tapered portion comes into contact with the mating tapered portion, the chuck can be moved further in the axial direction, at least to a limited extent, as a result of an axial pulling-in force until the chuck comes to lie against a stop on the securing portion side. The invention likewise concerns an associated locking device.

  • Patent number: 9242325
Abstract: The invention concerns a securing device for securing a chuck, in particular a power-operated chuck, on a rotating spindle of a machine, wherein a rotating element and at least one chucking-slide assembly are provided in a main body in such a way that, when the rotating element turns, the chucking-slide assemblies change their radial position such that, in a chucking position, they force the chuck against the securing device in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4944639
Abstract: A thread forming method and apparatus particularly suited for cutting tapered threads on round stock. The apparatus power feeds and rotates retreating die elements and includes mechanisms for quickly extending and retracting the die elements at the start and end of each threading cycle to achieve high production rates. The die elements include a face cutting edge which efficiently removes excess stock ideally in a single pass over the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4880340
Abstract: A screw cutter die head comprising an annular body portion, a ring member formed with several cam ridges and angularly movable relative thereto and several chasers held by said body member to be radially movable by engagement of a cam recess formed in each chaser with each of said cam ridges is in public knowledge. When it is necessary to process the work of far larger or smaller diameter in the known die head, the chasers must be exchanged with the others formed with the cam recess nearer to the cutting edges or more apart therefrom. The invention provides the chasers formed with a plurality of recesses and the ring member formed with the corresponding number of notches to be engaged with the latch for fixing it.

  • Patent number: 3956787
Abstract: A tool for reconditioning threads on vehicle lug studs. The tool is comprised of a hollow tube slidably receiving a collet chuck. The chuck is operatively connected to a handle that is in turn pivotably mounted to the tube. Pivotal movement of the handle causes responsive movement of the collet chuck between an extended and a retracted position within the tube. The chuck includes internal gripping surfaces having thread cutting serrations thereon. In the extended position, these serrations are separated from one another to enable loose positioning of the collet chuck over a lug stud. The handle is then pivoted to cause corresponding movement of the chuck to the retracted position. As the chuck is retracted into the tube, the gripping surfaces grip the shank between the thread cutting serrations. The tool may then be turned about the axis of the stud to renew or recondition the threads thereon.
