  • Patent number: 8568069
Abstract: A machining method for machining a superficial portion of a laminate using machine tool having a depth limiter which restricts a maximum depth of the machine tool. A guide frame having an inner guide contour restricts a maximum dimension of the superficial portion, and is secured over the superficial portion. The superficial portion is machined while the machine tool is guided by the guide contour. From another point of view, a machining apparatus for machining a superficial portion of a material is provided. The machining apparatus comprises a guide frame, an inner guide contour for guiding a machine tool, an attachment member for securing the guide frame to an attachment member, adjacent to the superficial portion, of the material.

  • Patent number: 6752571
Abstract: A radial-feed rotating drill tool having a tool holding fixture formed at an eccentric portion of a feed spindle eccentrically mounted in an external spindle. By rotating the feed spindle relative to the external spindle, a feed movement may be initiated with minimum expense. Further, because of the surface-contact mounting of the eccentric shaft portion of the feed spindle in the external spindle, mounting of the tool-holder without play is ensured.

  • Patent number: 6315503
Abstract: There is disclosed a feed system for a rotating cutting tool which is driven by a spindle and is adjustable in the feeding direction via an adjusting means. The adjusting means is driven by an operating shaft which can be driven synchronously with the spindle or at a predetermined difference in speed with respect to the spindle by a separate feed motor. In the case of a synchronous drive of the operating shaft and the spindle no feed is effected, whereas the cutting tool is adjusted, when a speed difference is adjusted by the adjusting means. After adjusting the desired position of the cutting tool, the operating shaft and the spindle are again driven at the same speed.

  • Patent number: 6033160
Abstract: A countersinking and deburring tool for deburring, chamfering, and countersinking of partially and fully penetrating holes with a rotationally actuated housing and at least one blade which can move within a housing shaft and perpendicular to the rotational axis of the housing, provides that, depending on the direction of rotation of the drive, the blade is withdrawn into the housing shaft or extended out of the housing shaft (reverser operation), and the displacement drive for the blade consists of a rocker which is mounted so that it can rotate in the housing and is rotationally actuated, which acts on the blade with at least one actuation pin. According to the invention the rocker's rotary actuator consists of at least one centrifugal weight arranged in the housing so that it can move diametrically, whose diametric displacement in the housing is converted into a rotational motion on the rocker through a form-fit guide.

  • Patent number: 4756649
Abstract: A counterbore for the bilateral mounting of plane surfaces on through holes that consists of a tool head that may be driven rotationally by means of a shank. The counterbore has two cutting heads with cutting edges pointing in opposite directions. The cutting heads are guided within the tool head in take-up slots in such a way that they may be moved out radially and fixed in a preselected position. The cutting heads lie against one another within the area of the take-up slots. In order that high cutting forces may be transmitted easily in a tool head of small dimensions, the cutting heads are guided through a guide slot extending in a radial direction and positioned in the take-up slots of the tool head.

  • Patent number: 4613260
Abstract: An annular thread cutting die head for a power driven threading machine is comprised of an annular support plate supporting a plurality of radially displacable thread cutting dies spaced apart about the axis of the die head, and an annular cam plate assembly coaxial with and pivotal relative to the support plate to radially displace the cutting dies. The cam plate assembly is spring biased to pivot relative to the support plate in the direction to radially retract the cutting dies, and is selectively operable relative to the support plate to achieve the cutting of a straight thread or to achieve the cutting of a tapered thread. In connection with the cutting of a tapered thread, receding replacement of the cutting tools is controlled by a unique cam arrangement on the machine carriage engaged by the cam plate assembly under the spring bias and independent of torque imposed on the die head during the threading operation.

  • Patent number: 4023211
Abstract: Apparatus comprising a die head, a carriage provided with the die head and a pair of support rods mounted on a frame in parallel thereto and supporting the carriage movably in opposing relation to the pipe to be threaded. An elongated cavity parallel to the frame is formed in the carriage at a position immediately below the front end of an arm for advancing and retracting chasers on the die head. The support rod on the frame is disposed in the cavity, and a profile member fitted in the elongated cavity is movably supported by the support rod. The front end of the arm on the die head is placed on the top profile surface of the profile member, so that the threading torque of the die head causes the arm to fixedly press the profile member against the suppot rod and, at the same time, the lead of the chasers advances the carriage, while permitting the arm to move on the top surface of the profile member. Thus the open end of the pipe is formed with a tapered threaded portion having a predetermined length.
