And Radially Spaced Cutting Edge Patents (Class 408/216)
  • Patent number: 10442004
Abstract: A pipe cutter with gauge and reamer/beveller of the cut edges of pipe. On the body of the pipe cutter there is at least one gauge; between it and the body a cavity is delimited capable of accepting the end of a pipe (t); each gauge having on its end a mouth that varies its diameter between a minimum (d1) at its base and a maximum (d) that coincides with the gauge of the pipe (t) it accepts. There is also at least one blade on each existing gauge or on a beveller equipped with one or several portions (S) with at least one blade on each of them. A pipe (t) is inserted in the corresponding gauge, first gauging the diameter of its cut edge and then the blades simultaneously bevel and ream the cut pipe (t) edge.

  • Patent number: 9670946
Abstract: A screwed assembly consists of at least one pre-punched, upper and an unpunched, lower component, an intermediate layer arranged in between, and a plurality of self-drilling fastening screws which are introduced via a pre-punch hole in the upper component and screwed to the unpunched component with the interposition of the intermediate layer. In order to effectively prevent in a simple manner any still uncured intermediate layer material from flowing out of the upper component surface when the fastening screws are screwed in, the pre-punches in the upper component are designed as blind holes which are closed by a thin-walled web.

  • Patent number: 9464656
Abstract: The self-drilling component includes a body with a cylindrical side wall, a self-drilling head at a first end of the body and a shank opening out at a second end. The self-drilling component includes a deformable area between the self-drilling head and the second end designed to form a flange when crimping is performed. The self-drilling head further includes a tip defined by three concurrent edges at least two of which are internal cutting edges, the tip enabling engagement of the self-drilling component, at least one external cutting edge placed at the end of the cylindrical side wall configured to cut the fibers of the composite material part, and a first surface parallel to and different from the axial plane containing the axis of rotation of the body, the first surface defining a first empty space in the self-drilling head to facilitate removal of the shavings when drilling is performed.

  • Patent number: 8662802
Abstract: A rigid design for a machine tool having perpendicular X, Y, and Z axes includes fixed X-axis frame members at the back of the machine, fixed Z-axis vertical frame members at the front of the machine, and fixed upper and lower Z-axis frame members rigidly attached to the fixed X-axis frame members and the fixed Z-axis vertical frame members. The frame members form a fixed, rigid, closed force loop design. A movable Y-axis column is bifurcated and a headstock is mounted in the center opening of the column. The headstock is advanced and retracted relative to the workpiece by moving the Y-axis column and the headstock relative to the workpiece. Because the headstock is fixed relative to the Y-axis column, the unsupported portion of the headstock relative to the Y-axis column does not change as the Z-axis position of the headstock changes relative to the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6206620
Abstract: A pivoting split thread chasing die for rethreading and cleaning damaged or inhibited studs or bolts; and a method of manufacturing the die. The identical main body halves of the pivoting split die, when assembled together with an assembly pin form a pivoting split die with opposing front and rear faces and a hexagonal outside periphery. Threads are formed on the inside periphery of the pivoting split die allowing for engagement with the threads of a stud or bolt. One or more material reliefs are formed on the inside periphery of the pivoting split die to enhance the cleaning and rethreading ability of the pivoting split die threads. These reliefs also serve as points for which debris can escape while performing a rethreading procedure. To rethread or clean a damaged or inhibited bolt or stud, apply an appropriate lubricant to the area to be rethreaded or cleaned.

  • Patent number: 4919035
Abstract: A muzzle brake and tool for effectively installing the brake on the muzzle end of a rifle without the necessity of engaging the services of a gunsmith. The tool for installation includes a handle assembly, a bore pilot and an insertable threading die and cutter and cutter holder by which the owner of the rifle can effectively trim the end of the barrel and then form threads on the external surface of the barrel onto which the muzzle brake can be screw threaded. The muzzle brake is a hollow cylindrical member having an internally threaded end engaged with the externally threaded end of the muzzle of the rifle together with two flat sides and four vents extending horizontally when installed on the rifle barrel with the vents being equally spaced and equally sized and communicating the hollow interior of the muzzle brake with the atmosphere to release gases thereby reducing recoil felt when the gun is fired.
