Abstract: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a stepped member are provided. An intermediate portion of a shaft workpiece is radially enlarged while being compressed in an axial direction by applying alternating load to the intermediate portion in a direction intersecting the axial direction in a state in which pressure that compresses the shaft workpiece in the axial direction is applied to both ends of the shaft workpiece. The enlarged intermediate portion of the shaft workpiece is cat in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction so that the shaft workpiece is divided into two stepped members. Each of the stepped members has a shaft portion and a head portion provided at an axial end of the shaft portion, and the head portion has a larger diameter than the shaft portion.
Abstract: This invention provides a method for rolling an external pipe thread, a rolling head and device thereof. A rolling wheel carries out a thread rolling, wherein the thread rolling starts from a thread tail of the external pipe thread and moves towards a thread head of the external pipe thread, thereby completing the thread rolling. The rolling head of the invention comprises at least one rolling wheel arranged along a circumference, a corresponding rolling wheel axle and a corresponding rolling wheel seat; the rolling wheel is rotatably fixed to the rolling wheel seat via the rolling wheel axle; and the rolling wheel is provided with a pipe thread forming part having a thread length less than an effective thread length of the external pipe thread to be rolled.

Abstract: A pipe-cutting tool is provided. This tool includes a body; a track on the middle portion of the body; a first moveable carriage mounted on the track, wherein the first carriage includes first and second rollers mounted therein; a handle mounted in the rear portion of the body, wherein the handle is connected to the first moveable carriage; a second moveable carriage slidably mounted on the track, wherein the second moveable carriage further includes a rotatable cutting blade mounted therein; a carriage stop mounted on or formed integrally with on the front portion of the body, wherein the carriage stop is adapted to receive therein a portion of the second moveable carriage; and a biasing member mounted between the carriage stop and the second moveable carriage, wherein the biasing member exerts substantially continuous force on the second moveable carriage for urging the rotatable cutting blade against a pipe being cut.
Abstract: A drilling and milling machine comprises a travelling pillar (20) having a tool spindle (25) which is movable along its own spindle axis (Z) and along the two further axes (X, Y) of a three-dimensional coordinate system (X, Y, Z), and a workpiece carrier (30) which is stepwise rotatable about a pivot axis (A). The pivot axis (A) extends horizontally and at right-angles to the spindle axis (Z). The workpiece carrier (30) is constructed for clamping a material bar (18), the axis of which coincides with the pivot axis (A) and the end portion of which forms a workpiece (18') to be machined by the workpiece spindle (25). On the travelling pillar (20) a severing unit (26) is arranged which in each operating cycle severs a machined workpiece (18') from the workpiece bar (18). The resulting partition face can then be further machined by the drilling and milling machine.
Abstract: A tool that allows a user to salvage a tube of caulk after the nozzle has become clogged. The approach is to cut off the nozzle to leave a stub of sufficient length, tap threads into the stub, and screw in a replacement nozzle. The tool comprises a body having a generally semi-cylindrical recess conforming to the base region of the caulking tube nozzle. A blade is mounted in the recess for cutting of the nozzle at a predetermined distance from the base of the nozzle. A tap, suitable for cutting threads into the stub of the nozzle, is rigidly mounted to and protrudes from the body. The tool includes provision for rendering the blade ineffective to cut nozzles or fingers when the tool is being used other than in the cutting mode.
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting and threading pipe comprising a portable support frame formed by disengagable members, cutting and threading units mounted on the frame and a pipe clamp fixed to the frame between the cutting and threading units. The cutting and threading units have separate drive motors. The threading unit is slidably and rotatably mounted on a guide pipe for pivotal movement between operative and inoperative positions and for axial movement toward and away from the cutting unit during threading operations. The pipe clamp non-rotatably holds the pipe during the cutting and threading operations and extends the entire distance between the cutting and threading units when located closest to one another.
Abstract: A cutting and chamfering apparatus for opposite ends of a tubular member including a cutting and chamfering support for holding horizontally the member, two tables provided respectively at opposite ends of the support, and a cutting machine and chamfering machine mounted in combination on each of the tables.
