Abstract: A machine tool includes a slide table supported by an upper portion of a main body of the machine tool so as to be horizontally slidable, a rotary table provided on the slide table so as to be rotationally indexable about a vertical axis extending in the direction that is orthogonal to the direction of horizontal slide movement of the slide table, and a motor provided in the slide table to rotate the rotary table. A housing space is formed in the main body to house a lower portion of the slide table. At least a part of the motor provided in the slide table is placed in the housing space.
Abstract: This snow ski, the sides of which have an inclination which is variable in relation to the plane of the sole of the ski, at different points along its length, and are constituted by curved convex or concave lines, in which the profiles of the sides are of variable curvature according to the cross-section in question of the ski.A procedure for manufacturing this ski consists, starting from a rough ski, in carrying out the machining of the lateral parts of the ski with the aid of a rotary tool with an axis perpendicular to the plane of the upper surface of the ski, the active surface of which is generated by a continuous monotonic curve, by carrying out a relative movement of the tool and of the ski simultaneously, in the direction of the length of the ski, in the direction of the width of the ski and in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the upper surface of the ski.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a sender unit is attached to the portion of the body corresponding to the damaged opposite portion and a surfacing unit is attached to the damaged portion. A sending head is traversed horizontally and vertically, either separately or simultaneously in a composite motion, over the undamaged portion of the body and this sender head is provided with a plurality of surface contacting probes which follow the contour accurately. Each probe moves upwardly and downwardly following the contour of the body and transmits these movements by flexible cable to the surfacing unit. The surfacing unit is provided with a surfacing head which also traverses the damaged area horizontally and vertically in synchronization with the movement of the sending head.
Abstract: Copying machine with optical reading device comprising three optical reading heads the respective luminous beams of which follow three curves moving in synchronism and which control the displacements in directions which are different from each other of a working unit, each reading head controlling the displacements of the said unit in a proper direction.
Abstract: A low cost multi-directional movement cam controlled mechanical positioning apparatus is described for automatically tracing out the path of movement for the working head of a machine tool or the like. The apparatus may be embodied in a single machine providing for three-dimensional movement of the working head with or without additional controlled movement of the working head in either pitch, roll or yaw. Alternatively, the apparatus can be employed to provide additional degrees of movement either along a z-axis and/or in either pitch, roll or yaw to the working head of a two-dimensional automatic machine tool or conventional construction. The apparatus comprises a set of at least three relatively large diameter, disk-type, control-drive cams rotatably supported on a base member for controlling movement of the working head of a machine tool or the like within a plane defined by complementary axes of movement (such as the x-y axes) and along at least one additional degree of movement.
