Including Cutter And Tracer Fixed To Move Together Patents (Class 409/121)
  • Patent number: 10113554
Abstract: An object is to provide a manufacturing method of a compressor impeller which produces a small post-cutting residual strain. A compressor impeller is formed by cutting a workpiece. The manufacturing method of a compressor impeller includes: a workpiece-fixing step of fixing a workpiece W on the supporting pedestal 3; and a cutting step of cutting inter-vane regions R and forming a plurality of vane sections B1, B2 and so on with intervals between one another in the circumferential direction of the workpiece W while pressing the workpiece. The cutting step includes selecting one of following steps. In the first cutting step, when successively cutting the plurality of inter-vane regions R1, R2 and so on disposed continuously in the circumferential direction of the workpiece, adjacent one of the inter-vane regions is avoided as often as possible.

  • Patent number: 7284937
Abstract: A pulse generation means that generates a pulse each time an XY movable member moves linearly by a certain amount relative to a base is provided. A workpiece and a light and dark pattern member are provided on the base. A tool, a light and dark pattern scanning sensor that scans the light and dark pattern and outputs a scanning signal, and a cutting means that moves the tool with respect to the workpiece in a cutting depth direction, orthogonal to the linear motion direction, are provided on the XY movable member. While the XY movable member moves relative to the base, the tool is moved by the cutting means in accordance with a logical AND operation performed on the scanning signal from the light and dark pattern scanning sensor and the pulse from the pulse generation means to perform machining.

  • Patent number: 6789985
Abstract: A three-dimensional mirror-image duplicating carver for producing a three-dimensional mirror-image of a three-dimensional object. First and second platforms are rotatably connected to a frame about spaced apart parallel first and second axes, respectively, and also parallel to the base. The platforms rotate equal and in opposite directions only to effect repositioning. A three-dimensional object to be duplicated in mirror image is attached to and positioned centrally on the first platform while a carvable workpiece is attached to and positioned centrally on the second platform. A support member includes a stylus and a carving tool having a carving tip spaced from the stylus a distance equal to the distance between the first and second axes and lying in a plane perpendicular to said base.

  • Patent number: 5135393
Abstract: The apparatus has a copying mechanism (1), which is mounted in a support fork (2) and comprises a feeler (17) and a toolholder (20). The copying mechanism (1) is supported on a support fork (2), which is arranged swivellably and displaceably on a foundation body. With the copying mechanism (1) is associated a rocker (3), which carries a pattern station (4) and a fabricated part station (5). On the stations (4, 5) are synchronously and rotatably mounted a pattern (24) and a fabricated part (25). Due to the fact that with the pattern (24) and the fabricated part (25) are associated two movement axes, namely axis (26) and the rocker swivel axis (23), it is possible to sense patterns having a random three-dimensional shape and corresponding fabricated parts can be copied.

  • Patent number: 4865093
Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming a workpiece or chair mat with cleats on the underside thereof, and with a marginal peripheral area void of cleats, and for trimming the edge of a generally planar workpiece. A rotatable work table is provided for positioning the workpiece. A router head includes an inclined router blade engageable with the edge of the workpiece to form a beveled ramp edge thereabout. A template is positioned between the workpiece and the work table, and the router head has a cam follower engageable with and movable along the edge of the template for guiding the router blade along the edge of the workpiece during rotation of the work table. A cooling medium is directed toward the area of engagement between the router blade and the edge of the workpiece. The depth of cut is controlled by a cam disk mounted on the bottom of the router head engageable with the top of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4627772
Abstract: A wood carving attachment that mounts onto a table saw provides a carriage for holding a pattern, and a workpiece that will be engaged by the circular saw blade to duplicate the pattern configuration on the workpiece. The pattern and workpiece are mounted on opposite ends of a carriage that pivots about an rocker axis generally parallel to the axis of rotation of the saw blade, and also is movable in direction along the axis and at the same time the pattern and the workpiece are both rotated about axes generally parallel to the rotational axis of the saw blade. A tracer wheel riding against the pattern will cause the carriage to be tilted about its rocker axis of the support as the pattern is moved along the rocker axis and rotated against the follower wheel so that by movement of the carriage the surface configuration of the pattern is duplicated by the saw blade engaging the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4624609
Abstract: A router is coupled to a pair of pivotally connected arms for free swinging movement about a horizontal plane in a space between a template and a workpiece. The router has an upwardly extending guide pin that is engageable with the template and a downwardly extending cutting bit which is concentric to the guide pin and engageable with the workpiece below. The template is in parallel, opposed relationship to the workpiece such that as the guide pin is moved about the template, the cutting bit simultaneously mills the workpiece to produce the sign. In preferred forms, a mirror carried by the router reflects an image of the guide pin to the machine operator during engagement with the template, and the mirror is also located in disposition relative to the operator's line of sight toward the cutting bit such that both the bit and the guide pin may be simultaneously observed.

  • Patent number: 4328050
Abstract: A method of controlling an operation of a copy-cutting apparatus including a tracer for tracing automatically a pattern and a cutting gas torch interconnected to the tracer in a given relationship. Prior to the actual working, the tracer is manually moved with respect to the pattern along a given path and stores coordinates of operational points such as a piercing point, a copy start point, a copy end point, an intermediate point, a slow down point, etc. During the actual working the stored coordinates are read out to control the movement of the tracer in such a manner that until the tracer has reached a copy start point the copying apparatus is set in a position setting mode in which the tracer is moved under the control of the read out coordinates. After the tracer has reached the copy start point the copying apparatus is switched into a copying mode in which the movement of tracer along the pattern is controlled by detecting the pattern.
