The chip guide has a guide channel that circumferentially surrounds the chip path having a channel inlet and a channel outlet, wherein the guide channel has a maintenance opening in addition to the channel inlet and the channel outlet. Furthermore, a method for discharge and comminution of a chip for this purpose services the guide channel by way of the maintenance opening after discharge and comminution of a chip having a predetermined chip length.

The methods may be carried out using one or both of an adjustment device carried by a housing to pivot an adjustment member for adjustment of an upstream guide to adjust a depth of cut of the cutting tool into the weld bead, or an adjustment device carried by the housing and coupled to the cutting tool to rotate the cutting tool during deburring.

    Abstract: A debeading tool capable of internally debeading butt-welded pipe made of PVC and similarly hard plastics has a work head that can be coupled to a distal end of a torque tube. The work head includes a motor carrying a cutter which is oriented at an angle, e.g., 12 degrees, to the interior pipe wall for cutting the weld bead as the tool is rotated inside the pipe. The work head cutter can be moved between an insertion/removal position away from the side wall and a cutting position against the bead on the side wall. A locator assembly that contacts the bead during insertion of the work head aids in positioning the cutter to straddle the weld bead. A pipe cleaner can be prepositioned in the pipe before butt-welding to be engaged upon removal of the work head to pull weld bead chips and fines from the pipe.

The first broach is advanced through the bores with the ribs slidably received in the grooves to guide the first broach and the cutting segments, broaching arcuately spaced sectors of the bores but leaving unbroached ridges therebetween. A section of tube of predetermined length is cut from the lead and of the advancing continuous tube, having the scarfed weld bead therein, by a rotary cutter. The speed of the individual section is increased to create a gap between the individual section and the continuous tube, and a scissor mechanism severs the weld bead within the gap. The severed section of weld bead is then conveyed within the associated individual section of tube to a tube accumulation or storage area for removal and disposal.

Each cutting unit having a lead guide and six cutting stars each having four cutting blades where the cutting blades on one cutting star are offset with the cutting blades on the other cutting stars. When pulled through the fiber conduit, the lead guide of the cutting units will prevent the cutting unit from going off the center of the conduit and digging itself into the interior sidewall of the conduit. The initial, middle and final cutting units will remove respectively the surface, the intermediate and the underneath portions sequentially.
