Sheet Metal Member Having Resilient Pawl Distorted Therefrom Patents (Class 411/125)
  • Patent number: 8764361
Abstract: A ratchet nut assembly includes an inner member, an outer member, and a spring clip. The inner member includes an outwardly extending tooth. The outer member is positioned around a portion of the inner member and includes an inwardly extending pawl. The pawl is engageable with the tooth to rotate the inner member with the outer member in a first direction when a torque applied to the outer member is below a predetermined value and is operable to deflect outwardly to allow rotation of the outer member relative to the inner member in the first direction when the torque applied to the outer member is above the predetermined value. The pawl is engageable with the tooth to prevent rotation of the outer member relative to the inner member in a second direction. The spring clip is positioned around a portion of the outer member to limit deflection of the pawl.

  • Patent number: 8186919
Abstract: A lock washer includes a planar washer body formed of a sheet of resilient metal having a selected thickness no less than the pitch thread of the bolt with which it is to be used. First and second lock tabs integral with the body extend radially outward of the central aperture, wherein each of the tabs has a radially inward facing, straight, free edge transverse to a radius of the body, and each of the tabs is displaced by a spring bend to one side of the plane of the body. The washer body is etched to a selected lesser thickness in the area of the spring bend to provide a selected spring force when the tab is pushed down to the plane of the body.

  • Patent number: 7568870
Abstract: A push nut comprises legs (6, 7), each of which is configured with outer struts (5), inner struts (17) spacedly disposed between the outer struts (5), and a tongue (19) lying between the inner struts (17) and projecting into an inner space (16) and intended to bear against a shank of a bolt that can be screwed into a thread portion (4). A high pull-out strength is thereby obtained with relatively low material expenditure.

  • Patent number: 6688830
Abstract: A device f or the bracing connection of spaced-apart components (1, 2) by a connecting screw (5), comprising a supporting part (3), which can be secured on the first component (1) by fastening elements (8), and a spacer part (4), which can be displaced axially in relation to the supporting part (3) by rotation and, as the connecting screw (5), fitted into an opening of the spacer part, is screwed in, is carried along, as a result of friction-fitting engagement of the lateral surface of the screw shank against resilient elements (9) projecting into the opening, until it strikes against the second component (2) Both the supporting part (3) and the spacer part (4) are threaded bushings (6, 7) formed in one piece, the fastening elements (8) and the resilient elements (9) forming parts of the respective shaped member.
