Reversed Internal And External Threads On One Of The Nuts Patents (Class 411/243)
  • Patent number: 11519450
Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device (300) comprising: a shaft (24) comprising a first thread (22); and a nut (12) and a ring (13) to be assembled on the shaft; the nut comprising a first inner thread (18) defining a first radial clearance with the first thread of the shaft; the nut further comprising a second inner thread (20) in the opposite direction to the first inner thread, the ring (13) comprising a second thread (40) defining a second radial clearance with the second inner thread of the nut; the ring comprising a third inner thread (38) defining a third radial clearance with the first thread of the shaft. The inner threads and the first and second threads have an identical and constant thread pitch; and each of the second and third radial clearances is greater than the first radial clearance.

  • Patent number: 11466723
Abstract: The present invention relates to a unit (10) for a locking device, including: a nut (12) comprising first (18) and second (20) coaxial taps in opposite directions; and a ring (13); said ring including a third tap (38); the first (18) and third (38) taps being capable of engaging with a single first thread (22); said ring including a second thread (40) capable of engaging with the second tap (20) of the nut. A portion (33) of the ring, projecting relative to the second thread (40), includes a through-hole (60); and a surface (16) of the nut includes a visual marking, configured to be opposite the hole (60) when the nut and the ring are in an installation position, and separated from said hole when the nut and the ring are outside said installation position.

  • Patent number: 11236778
Abstract: A multi-piece locking fastener assembly including a thickened base layer having a first wider diameter passageway exhibiting a first interiorly threaded orientation and a second narrower diameter passageway exhibiting a second opposite threaded orientation and extending a distance in communication with and beyond a bottom end wall of the first wider passageway. A first bolt fastener has a first arrangement of exterior threads engageable with the wider diameter passageway of the base layer. The first fastener further includes an interior passageway. Following installation of the wider fastener into the base layer, a second narrower diameter bolt fastener having at least a partially threaded stem is threadably inter-engaged with the second passageway in the base layer to prevent loosening of either fastener via their counter-threaded orientations.

  • Patent number: 11168729
Abstract: A three-piece locking fastener including an interiorly threaded intermediate component open at opposite ends. A first screw having a first exterior thread pattern rotationally inter-engages with the interior threads of the intermediate component when installed through a first selected one of the opposite ends, the first screw having a hollow shaft exhibiting a further plurality of interior threads matching a direction of the first thread pattern. A second screw has a second exterior thread pattern opposite the first pattern and, upon being installed within the other selected one of the opposite ends, rotationally inter-engages the interior threads of the first screw, so that loosening of either of the first and second screws being prevented by their counter-threaded orientation.

  • Patent number: 7585237
Abstract: A bicycle component is configured with an axle fixing structure. In the preferred embodiment, the bicycle component is an electric derailleur. The bicycle component has a base member rotatably supported on an axle. Preferably, the axle includes a shaft portion with a head portion disposed adjacent a first end of the shaft portion for limiting axial movement of the base member in a first axial direction of the shaft portion, and a threaded portion disposed adjacent a second end of the shaft portion with external threads. A first locking member is threaded onto the external threads and configured to limit axial movement of the base member in a second axial direction of the shaft portion. Preferably, a second locking member is threaded into the internal threads of the second end of the shaft portion to secure the first locking member on the fastening portion of the axle.
