Patent number: 6945566Abstract: A high-pressure connection device with a housing having a receiving opening into which an inlet conduit discharges. A pressure tube connector stub discharges on one end into an end face of the connector stub and has a male thread, which engages a female thread in the receiving opening press a sealing face on the connector stub into the receiving opening into contact with a seat face of the receiving opening. Both threads are embodied as sawtooth threads, and the thread flanks, which are embodied at least approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the female thread, rest on one another with nonpositive engagement in the tensed state.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2002Date of Patent: September 20, 2005Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Gerhard Weiss

Patent number: 6546766Abstract: A lock nut designed for securing a nut on bolt, specifically for those situations in which the bolt cannot be rotated and the bolt is located proximate to an object that can obstruct the ability to rotate the lock nut on the bolt. The lock nut can change form by the addition of pieces, the removal of pieces, or by changing the shape of a single piece. The lock nut is designed such that in one form it can be threaded onto the bolt and, thereafter, it can be changed in form and locked into this new form, the new form being such that the lock nut cannot be fully rotated on the bolt without encountering an obstruction, thus preventing the ability to remove the lock nut.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2001Date of Patent: April 15, 2003Inventor: Gregory L. Klingler

Patent number: 5713708Abstract: A self-locking nut designed to work with a male thread's that have a slot, keyway or hole along their threads. A novel locking ring (13) placed in a cavity (23)in one end of the nut. One or more fingers (24) on the locking ring lock into a slot, recess, hole or keyway in the male thread and multiple projections on the clip lock into recesses (22) in the female component. By locking the male component to the clip and the female component to the clip the device locks the male component to the female component.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1995Date of Patent: February 3, 1998Inventors: Richard W. Van derDrift, Robert G. Ullrich, Paul S. Turin

Patent number: 5538378Abstract: A self-locking threaded connecting device comprising a male component (11) with a recess locking thread type (31) and a female component (12) with a flexible thread segment (21). Tension from the alignment of the internal flexible thread segment urges projections (22) of the flexible thread segment into the recesses (32) of the recess locking thread and thereby prevent the threaded fastener from loosening and coming apart in response to axial pressure optionally combined with vibration, expansion, contraction or other movement. The projections and recesses are shaped so that the faces glide by each other and unlock with the application of adequate torque. The two threads are designed to work together. The female component when used with a standard male component without recesses provides resistance to inadvertent loosening.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1995Date of Patent: July 23, 1996Inventor: Richard W. Van Der Drift

Patent number: 5494462Abstract: A ground rod clamp for clamping a ground rod and at least one ground wire employs a clamp body and a bolt. A transverse orifice in a first portion of the clamp body receives the ground rod and ground wire. A threaded portion of the bolt is received by a threaded axial bore in a second portion of the clamp body. The distal end of the bolt engages the ground rod and ground wires. Torquing the bolt head clamps the ground rod and ground wires within the clamp body.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1994Date of Patent: February 27, 1996Assignee: Electric Motion Company, Inc.Inventor: William T. Patent number: 5165832Abstract: A unitary retaining device is removably insertable into a connector. The retaining device includes a unitary wire having a first end integrally formed as a handle of any suitable geometric shape and a second end of which is radiused, wire shaped and annealed to improve its malleability for both insertion and removal from the connector. A coating may be applied to the surface of the wire to improve the insertion and extraction characteristics of the wire. The handle may be heat treated to improve its strength. The wire is insertable into a circumferential groove of the connector, with the handle protruding outwardly from the connector after insertion, to allow for extraction.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1991Date of Patent: November 24, 1992Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Mina Dimov

Patent number: 5120170Abstract: The present invention provides an improved system (30) for maintaining the position of a castellated nut (34) on a spindle (31) having an axial bore (33) therethrough. The improved system (30) utilizes chordal bore (36) passing through the spindle (31). After the castellated nut (34) is positioned on the spindle (31) a cotter pin (37) is placed within chordal bore (36). The cotter pin (37) is of sufficient length such that both ends (38, 39) thereof extend from the drilled spindle and engage the slots (35) of the castellated nut (34). Thus, the cotter pin (37) prevents rotation of castellated nut (34) maintaining the proper position thereof.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1991Date of Patent: June 9, 1992Assignee: Hayes Axle, Inc.Inventor: Ken E. Kalies
