  • Patent number: 11313406
Abstract: A captive fastener is disclosed having a longitudinal slot along the shank for receiving a hold-out clip, and a chamber that houses a retractable cam member. The cam member is spring actuated to extend out of the shank and can be retracted into the cavity against the bias of the spring to pass through a primary panel and subpanel. The cam member is shaped to counter-rotate in the presence of a traverse force, such as the panel bearing against it.

  • Patent number: 11313405
Abstract: A captive fastener is disclosed having a longitudinal slot along the shank for receiving a hold out clip, and a pair of diametrically opposed slots for receiving a pair of push out clips. The push out clips are formed with hook shaped ends that catch and engage an edge of a wall surface to set the distance of depth of the fastener inside the wall. The hold out clip and push out clips are shaped to receded inside their respective slots in the presence of an interfering surface as the fastener passes through the wall in a first direction (insertion), but the push out clips will not recede into their slots in the second direction (withdrawal).

  • Patent number: 10336421
Abstract: A propeller and related method for adjusting the fluid-dynamic pitch of the propeller blades are described. The propeller has at least one rotatable blade pivoted to a propeller cylindrical casing, a hub adapted to be coupled to an engine and mounted within the propeller casing. The hub is rotatable with respect to the propeller cylindrical casing, or vice versa, for a non-zero angular interval (?) for the adjustment of the fluid-dynamic blade pitch. Moreover, the hub has a contact surface movable between direct or indirect disengagement and engagement positions with a respective abutment which defines a limit stop of the angular interval (?). The limit stop abutment has a region of a movable element arranged in a seat of the propeller cylindrical casing for modifying the limit stop abutment position of the at least one angular interval (?).

  • Patent number: 9746279
Abstract: A paintball marker has an inline cylinder that includes a gas governor that reduces gas flow from a compressed gas source to a valve area when the bolt is in a firing position; this increases efficiency in the marker because only the required air is used to fire the paintball. This bolt operates independent of the valve pin, which increases cycle speed and enables the governor to open and close at an optimum time in the firing cycle. Further, when the bolt/piston is recocking, the gap between the valve pin and governor valve pin enables low pressure gas driving the piston to start pressurizing the cylinder and driving the piston rearwards without resistance from the high pressure gas. The marker also allows a user to remove the inline cylinder without tools, and provides a convenient carrying handle for holding the paintball marker, which is commonly called a “snatch grip.

  • Patent number: 8992149
Abstract: Anti-rotation keys are typically used in applications where an end of a threaded stud is received in a housing, and where the opposite end of the stud projects from the housing to allow attachment of another component to the housing. Once partially received in the housing, further rotation of the stud is prevented by an anti-rotation key. The disclosed anti-rotation key is self-retaining, in that it prevents itself from “backing out” of the channel due to vibration or thermal expansion of the housing, etc., while also being removable from the channel if desired.

  • Patent number: 6048151
Abstract: A compressibly resilient strip is retainably disposed in an axial slot in a threaded shank which is advanced through a bore in a plurality of workpieces. A rigid retainer member is inserted into the slot to urge the resilient strip against the bore to increase the resistance force between bolt and bore against separation until such time as the retainer member is removed. In another application of the invention, a threaded fastener having a head and a shank is inserted into a through opening in workpieces until the end protrudes and is fastened with a nut. An axial slot in the threaded fastener is aligned with an axial channel of the nut. A strip, having a protruding lug near its distal end, is passed through the slot of the threaded fastener until the protruding lug enters the channel of the threaded nut. The portion of the strip extending beyond the head of the threaded fastener is bent into a groove in the surface of the head of the threaded fastener, preventing accidental disassembly of fastener and nut.

  • Patent number: 5549612
Abstract: An osteosynthesis plate system is particularly well adapted to securely fuse adjacent cervical vertebrae. The plates are adapted for mounting upon the anterior or posterior surfaces of the vertebrae. Plates for mounting on the anterior vertebral surfaces have a concave bone contacting surface and a bone screw locking mechanism integral with each screw hole. Moreover, the bone contacting surface of the plate has a plurality of bone penetrating protrusions to more securely affix the plate to bone. Plates for mounting on the posterior vertebral surfaces also have bone penetrating protections on their bone contacting surfaces. Such plates are formed so as to have a curved bone contacting surface that is concave in the transverse axis of the plate and convex in the longitudinal axis of the plate. The screw holes of such plates are constructed so as to guide a bone screw along a desired angle to improve the anchoring of the screws in bone.

  • Patent number: 5411357
Abstract: A device for locking a threaded insert into a prepared hole in a parent material. The device includes a locating portion, a locking portion and a gripping portion which is removed upon installation. The locating portion comprises a finger which is positioned in a preformed slot in the external threads of the threaded insert. The locking portion, which extends outwardly from the locating portion, is driven across the corresponding threads of the parent material to shear and distort the threads and lock the insert in place. The gripping portion which extends outwardly from the locking portion is used by the installer to position the device during installation and is then broken off.
