  • Patent number: 11457962
Abstract: A femur fixation device includes an intramedullary nail having along its longitudinal axis a proximal portion, a distal portion and a lateral through hole extending through the proximal portion; and a hip screw capable of passing through the lateral through hole. An axis of the lateral through hole intersects the longitudinal axis at a first inclination angle. The proximal portion includes a first through hole. The first through hole is provided with a detachable positioning bracket therein. A positioning protrusion is defined at a lower end of one side of the positioning bracket. A line connecting the positioning protrusion and corresponding end points on a sidewall of the positioning bracket intersects the longitudinal axis at a second inclination angle. An outer surface of the hip screw is provided with a positioning groove. A tail nail is disposed in the first through hole.

  • Patent number: 10465731
Abstract: A screw includes a shank, a head connected thereto, a drilling portion opposite to the head, a first threaded section spirally formed on the shank, and a leading threaded section spirally extending upwards from the drilling portion. The two threaded section are disconnected so that a valley is formed between them. At least one cutting unit protrudes from the valley and has two ends connected to the first threaded section and the leading threaded section respectively. The leading threaded section assists the drilling portion in cutting and drilling into an object while screwing, and the cutting unit protruding from the valley severs fibers which are not cut by the leading threaded section completely to prevent the entanglement of the fibers. The valley helps accommodate and evacuate cut chips. Therefore, the drilling resistance is reduced effectively to increase the screwing efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9181970
Abstract: A drilling screw contains on its front end facing away from the screw head a drill bit having two drilling cutters. At an axial distance from the drilling cutters the screw shank has a constriction, within which the diameter of the screw shank is smaller than the diameter of the hole produced by the drill bit. The constriction is configured such that it has a shoulder running almost transversely to the longitudinal axis and facing the screw head and from which the diameter gradually approaches again the core diameter of the shank. Within this constriction begins the thread, wherein the thread edge initially has a distance from the longitudinal axis of the screw which corresponds roughly to the radius of the hole. The thread edge then runs along a spiral up to the final outer diameter of the thread on the shank.

  • Patent number: 8747043
Abstract: A fastener including a chisel point that pre-bores a hole in a work piece to prevent damage to the work piece as the fastener advances. The fastener can include a head, a shaft and a chisel brake point formed at an end of the shaft. The chisel brake point can include first and second opposing inclined surfaces disposed at an angle of about 80° to about 150° relative to one another. A thread can begin adjacent the chisel brake point and form an extension of an inclined surface and/or a chisel edge. The chisel brake point can scrape material from a work piece while pre-boring a hole. The material can be transferred to the thread, and subsequently fed up the thread, out of the pre-bored hole. The chisel brake point can also selectively retard advancement of the fastener into the work piece. Methods of installing the fastener also are provided.

  • Patent number: 8511958
Abstract: A screw with double notches includes a head portion, a shank portion extended outward from the head portion, a threaded section spirally surrounded on the shank portion. Wherein, a raw section on the shank portion is provided with a cambered surface formed integral with the shank portion in cross-section, and a notched section relative to the raw section has two cutting notches separately depressed into the shank portion and disposed near an end of the shank portion, thereby forming a protrudent part between the two cutting notches. By means of the cooperation of the cutting notches and the raw section, the cutting capability and the removal of debris are increased so that a fastened object is prevented from split. Thereby, the drilling speed is promoted, and the effort to rotate the screw is lessened. While the supporting strength of the screw is improved, the screw does not break easily while screwing.

  • Patent number: 8348574
Abstract: A fabricating method for the self-drilling screw has acts of forming a main section and a secondary section by punching, forming a flat drilling blade with a tapered end at a bottom end of the small diameter portion by punching, and forming a thread portion on an outer surface of the main section and a chip removal thread portion with a spiral chip removal groove on an outer surface of the secondary section by rolling. The self-drilling screw utilizes the flat drilling blade with the tapered end and the chip removal section having chip removal function to reduce the size of the drilling blade. Therefore, the self-drilling screw reduces the size of the punching die, lowers the punching force, lowers both the load of the punching die and the load of the punching machine, and lowers both the die cost and the manufacturing cost.
