Abstract: A security seal assembly is designed to provide detection of tampering with or the removal of a wheel lug nut, particularly on a truck tire. The Security Seal is designed as an indicative seal rather than theft seal. When the seal is fitted onto the wheel lug nut, it prohibits access to the nut unless the cover is broken.

Abstract: A decorative cap and wheel nut or bolt insert, and a method of assembling them. The insert is coated and/or plated and includes a hex-shaped section and a section having a circular cylindrical outer surface. A cap includes a hex cross-section segment and a circular cylindrical cross-section segment. The hex cross-section segment of the cap slips easily over the hex section of the insert while the circular cylindrical cross-section segment has a smaller ID than the OD of the circular cylindrical insert section whereby an interference fit is formed between them when the insert is press fit into the cap.

Abstract: A push-pin including a slot dividing a body into multiple portions and having at least two pins extending from separate ones of the multiple portions. The preferred push-pin includes a pushing surface on one end of the body. A pulling surface is generally defined around the body. The slot divides the body into at least two portions. Material of the body is selected to allow some movement of the divided portions of the body without permanent deformation thereof. This allows the portions return to their relaxed position when an applied force is removed. An opening of the slot has rounded surfaces defined on the body portions. The remaining area defined by the slot 16 may be wider than the opening, allowing an object to be held in the slot after passing the opening. The dimensions of the slot are selected to accommodate different sized objects as a matter of design variation within the scope of the invention. Preferably, the body 12 is made of anodized Aluminum (Al).

Abstract: A hex nut formed from cutting and deforming a rigid planar material and having an integral attachment surface continuous with the deformable planar material allows attachment of the hex nut to any suitable surface. A rigid planar material such as a piece of flat metal is cut according to a particular pattern. The particular pattern includes each of the sides of the hex nut and one or more attachment surfaces as a continuous shape. The flat metal is then deformed, or bent, along certain lines to form a hex nut, or other polygonal shaped object. The attachment surface or surfaces, which extend from the sides of the hex nut, are then secured to a surface of a rotatable object, such as by adhesion or spot welding, or other suitable methods. In this manner, the hex nut can be engaged by a receptacle such as a wrench for rotating the hex nut and consequently, the object which is attached through the attachment surface.

The nipple is constructed with a hollow hard tubular metallic material to ensure the strength of the structure; while the outer housing where requires less strength is formed of a plastic material by ejection mold process so as to reduce the production cost and simplify the fabrication process. The nipple and the housing are conjoined together by screw engagement.

Abstract: A lug cap includes a detent along the inner wall. The detent has an engaging surface that begins shortly after a threaded portion of the lug cap ends. The engaging surface ramps up to a top surface that runs parallel to the inner wall. The lug nut engages the detent which prevents the rotation of the lug cap with respect to the lug nut by increasing the force required to loosen or tighten the lug cap from the lug nut.

Abstract: A nut for use with an elongated rod having one end anchored by a hardened resin grouting mix in a drill hole in a mine roof or other such rock formation. The nut has a body portion with a threaded bore through which the rod is advanced and a dome-shaped wall surrounding one end of the bore in radially outwardly spaced relation and an annular lip defining an opening in coaxial, axially spaced relation to the one end of the bore. A metal disc, either solid or with a central opening of smaller diameter than the bore, is positioned in covering relation to the bore and surrounded by the dome-shaped wall. As the rod is advanced through the nut, the disc is moved into contact about its entire periphery with the inside of the dome-shaped wall and rotation of the nut is transmitted to the rod to mix the resin components within the drill hole.

Abstract: A novel insert assembly for use in snowboards and other sporting equipment provides for embedded insert location, regardless of the properties of the insert material per se, and without requiring either expensive equipment or a complex location process. This is achieved by positioning a small inexpensive magnet on or within the insert cavity, or placing a plug-like magnet in the open threaded end of the inserts. After the board assembly is complete, a magnetic material such as iron powder is dusted on the surface of the board to react with the field lines created about each insert, revealing the insert location. Then, the board can be drilled to pierce the insert cap, and facilitate removal of any plug in the insert. It is also possible to provide, through powdered metal technology, an insert material which itself will produce the desired magnetic field of sufficient intensity at the dusted surface of the board.
