Resilient Retainer Patents (Class 411/970)
  • Patent number: 4758124
Abstract: A nut for accommodation in an open channel section (1) is comprised by a main body (6) provided with a threaded hole (7) and a gripping means (8) connected to the main body. The gripping means comprises a clamping device (9) for co-operation with the limiting edges (3, 4) of a longitudinal opening (2) in the channel section. During insertion of the nut in the channel section the gripping means is subjected to a torque about two generally orthogonal axes, and upon completed insertion the nut is held in the correct position by means of a form and/or friction locking co-operation between the limiting edges (3, 4) of the opening (2) and indentations (12, 13) in the legs of a U-shaped loop (9) constituting the clamping device.

  • Patent number: 4684305
Abstract: A fastening clip device forming a nut in the form of a resiliently deformable U section adapted to be fitted by its legs onto the edge of a panel, and having a member interposed between the legs so as to hold them positively apart prior to their fitting onto the edge of the panel and being movable relatively to the legs so as to be displaceable therebetween under the action of the panel as the legs are passed over the edge surfaces thereof. At the end of the fitting operation, one of the legs is released to allow the U section to resiliently close onto the edge of the panel.

  • Patent number: 4676706
Abstract: A clip nut comprises a body having a channel-shaped part having two opposed portions and an extension part united by a hinge portion to one of said opposed portions. The extension part has a nut retaining section, and it can be overlapped over one of the opposed portions with a nut accommodated in the nut retaining section. In this state, a panel is fitted in the space between the two opposed portions, and a bolt can be inserted through the channel-shaped part and panel and screwed into the nut.

  • Patent number: 4657423
Abstract: A fastener and receptacle arrangement is utilized to perpendicularly connect two pieces of flat stock material together. One piece of flat stock material includes a hole for insertion of the fastener and the other piece includes an opening for mounting a receptacle. The receptacle is secured to that board by a flexible member of the board which engages a recess in the receptacle. The piece of flat stock material with the receptacle secured to it is then perpendicularly secured to the other piece of flat stock material by a fastener which passes through that other piece of flat stock material and fixably engages the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4643610
Abstract: Disclosed is a fastener assembly for application to a support panel to receive a threaded bolt extending through a passage in the support panel. A sheet metal element body portion has means for threadably engaging the bolt. The sheet metal element is formed with an integral attaching ramp portion of a size to pass through an open loop strap struck from a pierced transversely extending slot in the support panel. A V-shaped cut-out in said ramp portion defines a spring arm struck therefrom terminating in a downwardly bent tongue. The ramp portion has a pair of stop shoulders operative to engage the strap transversely facing walls thereby aligning the body thread engaging means with the support panel passage upon the tongue being snapped into interlocking relation with the slot.

  • Patent number: 4595325
Abstract: Disclosed are two embodiments (40, 50) of a self-locking prevailing torque fastener featuring a common base portion (2) having an aperture (4) therethrough for receiving a threaded member that is at least partially surrounded by means such as a warped helical edge (6) for engaging the threads of the threaded member. Fasteners (40, 50) are provided with a pair of spaced-apart resilient torque arms having respective sections (8) that respectively extend downwardly from opposite edge of base portion (2) to sections (10) that extend upwardly to sections (12) that extend through respective openings (14) in each to respective free-ends (16) that are adapted to press against opposite sides of the threaded member.
