Abstract: The present disclosure provides an insert that includes a locking mechanism that may either be formed integrally to the component or attached separately to the insert body. The top of the locking mechanism is offset from the first surface by an offset distance to enable the insert to be coupled to a recess of a component such as an aircraft component. An aperture formed in a top surface of the first portion is configured to allow additional elements to be coupled to the aircraft component. The coupling of the insert to the aircraft component is further promoted by a compression mechanism that forces the locking mechanism to couple to an overhang portion of the top layer after the force applied to the insert once it is positioned in the recess is removed, such that the top surface of the insert is co-planar with an outermost surface of the aircraft component.
Abstract: A fastening device includes a fastener and a sealant. The sealant may be disposed about the fastener. Engagement of the fastener with a substrate forces the sealant into at least a borehole defined within the substrate as the fastener engages with the substrate.

The anchor ribbon includes an extended ribbon with an integrated gear rack, and an integral anchor with a pair of bendable tapered wings. The retaining cap houses a pawl and a slot sized and shaped to receive a free end of the extended ribbon. In use, the gear rack and pawl engage to resist retraction of the retaining cap when the extended ribbon is received in the slot, and the wings are configured to bend toward the extended ribbon to a collapsed state for passage of the anchor through an opening in a workpiece and to rebound to an expanded state following passage of the anchor through the opening, to prevent retraction of the anchor through the opening.
Abstract: Disclosed is retainer for a nut. The retainer is positioned within the frame that provides access to a closure. The closure, in turn, is secured by way of a removable cover. The cover is removably secured to the frame by way of a series of bolts and corresponding nuts. The nuts are secured by way of the retainer to allow the bolts to be secured. Each retainer includes upper and lower opening and an internal area. The upper opening is preferably angled such that the nut must be oriented at an angle in order to be inserted into the retainer. The internal area of each retainer includes a ledge with an angled step. The angled step function is rotating the nut to a horizontal orientation after it has been inserted into the retainer. Thereafter, a user can access the nut with a finger through the lower opening. This allows the nut to be rotated and removed via the upper opening. The various features of the present retainer, and the manner in which they interrelate, are described in greater detail hereinafter.
Abstract: A wall anchor assembly with a sleeve and an anchor elastically coupled to the sleeve with an elastic member. Wherein, the elastic member defines a sleeve coupling portion that is substantially circular and couples the elastic member to the sleeve.
Abstract: An erection anchor is provided having a head and first and second legs affixed to opposite sides of the head, whereby the first and second legs each have a threaded lower section extending downward, away from the head. The erection anchor may be embedded in a precast concrete panel, such as a multilayer panel having an insulation core layer sandwiched between concrete layers. The erection anchor may be embedded in the multilayer panel with the head exposed and the first and second legs each embedded in a concrete layer on opposite sides of the insulation layer.
Abstract: Disclosed is a floating barrel nut with improved means for retaining a nut in a seat of a segmented cylindrical slug and related methods. In one embodiment, a barrel nut according to this disclosure may comprise: a nut with a threaded shaft and a flange that is chamfered on its lower end; a cylindrical slug that has been segmented along a plane that is parallel to the cylindrical axis, said slug having a head and a foot; two pins; wherein said nut is configured to float between the head and foot of the slug; wherein said shaft features an indentation on opposite sides thereof; and, wherein said pins are attached to the head and foot of the slug and sit in the indentations of the shaft. In another embodiment the pins are bent around the shaft.
Abstract: A nut plate assembly and a method for securing a nut plate assembly may include a support for a fastener element wherein the support has a base to be supported and/or fixed on a support surface and the base has another surface against which the fastener element bears. The base also supports a structure for supporting the fastener element where the structure is at least partly non-symmetrical about a plane other than a horizontal plane parallel to the base. One side of the base may be secured to the support surface and the other side of the base may have the fastener element bearing against it when a complementary fastener element is secured to the first fastener element.
Abstract: A fastener retainer is provided capable of retaining a fastener to a part prior to and during assembly. A first portion engages a fastener flange while leaving a fastener head exposed for assembly tool access. A second portion has flanges that engage the edges of the part.

Abstract: An apparatus for fixing a member to an aircraft structure including: firstly, fixing device having a shank with a head at one end, an externally machined portion of its peripheral wall at its other end, and a longitudinal interior thread at the same end as its externally machined portion, secondly, a bushing which cooperates with the machined portion of the shank so as to be fixed to the shank; and thirdly, an attachment device for attaching the member and having a threaded shank cooperating with the longitudinal interior thread.
Abstract: High pressure jackscrew connectors for removably attaching a first component to a second component having an internally threaded member. One preferred embodiment described includes a panel mount member which is attached to the first component to be joined. When attached to the first component, the panel mount member retains an internally threaded ejector member. A pressure inserter member having a longitudinally extending externally threaded portion engages with the internal threads of the ejector member and the internal threaded member of the second component to pull the ejector member towards the pressure inserter member and push the first component towards the second component upon rotation of the pressure inserter member.
Abstract: An adjustment mechanism for a clutch is partially recessed within a clutch cover. The disclosed adjustment mechanism includes a support bracket, a rotation assembly, and a locking plate. The support bracket includes a web and a pair of side walls defining a U-shaped channel. Each side wall includes a flange on one end of the side wall opposite the web. Each flange extends away from the channel generally parallel to the web of the support bracket. The rotational assembly is secured to the support bracket and includes a gear that cooperates with an adjusting ring of the clutch. A head of the rotation assembly is entirely received within the channel of the support bracket; thus, no portion of the rotation assembly extends from the channel beyond the flanges of the support bracket. Further, a locking plate is secured to the support bracket to selectively prevent rotation of the rotation assembly. Moreover, no portion of the locking plate extends from the channel of the support bracket beyond the flanges.
Abstract: A safety retainer for preventing disengagement of a shackle bolt from a U-shaped shackle. The retainer includes a collar member and a pin member. The tubular collar member surrounds the head of the shackle bolt and is provided with a pair of holes through its walls, coaxially alignable with an aperture in the shackle bolt head, and a notch cut out of the wall of one end thereof for engagement with one arm of the shackle. The pin member is insertable through the pair of collar member holes and the shackle bolt aperture to prevent rotation and disengagement of the shackle bolt from the shackle.
