Abstract: An improved cage nut assembly is comprised of a cage, a pair of slots, a nut, a flange and a strip. The cage has four walls which form a four sided enclosure. Each of a pair of opposing walls contains a slot. The flange extends from the nut such that its planar surface is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the nut. The flange and the nut have a common opening for receiving a bolt. The strip is attached to the nut and the flange. The strip is inserted into the slots to suspend the nut within the cage. The walls and the flange are shaped to limit rotation of the flange. The nut floats in two dimensions. The nut and the flange may be removed through the bottom of the cage.
Abstract: A fastener assembly is adapted for attaching an article to a workpiece having a slot. The fastener assembly includes a flanged nut which has internal threads and a non-circular cross-section, and a bolt having a threaded shank for engagement with the internal threads of the nut. The fastener assembly also includes a plate which comprises a main body and a tab portion extending from the main body. The plate has an opening complementary to the non-circular cross-section of the nut for receiving the nut therein and for securing the nut against rotation relative to the plate when the nut is placed in the opening. Alternatively, a nut is fixed to an underside of the plate against rotation and the opening in the plate is adapted for receiving the bolt therethrough. The tab portion of the plate extends into the slot in the workpiece for retaining the plate and nut and allowing limited float of the plate and nut with respect to the workpiece.

Abstract: A compression clip of the present invention comprises a bolt and a self-tightening member having two side sections and a grooved intermediate section therebetween. The intermediate section has a hole for receiving the bolt. Preferably, the intermediate section has grooves on both an interior and exterior surface thereof. After tightening of the clip, the intermediate section flattens to become somewhat planar and the side sections are compressed inward to securely engage a guide rail or wear strip within the clip.
Abstract: An anti-rotation locking assembly for releasably fastening automotive exhaust pipes and exhaust manifolds to an engine block is disclosed comprising a threaded bolt with hex-wrenching recess and a hyperbolic locking plate with hex-stud which fits into the wrenching recess of the bolt and is attached thereto by cotter pin or Q clip. The locking plate has a contour which mates with said exhaust pipe and thereby prevents the bolt from working loose due to vibration of the engine.
