  • Publication number: 20090214326
Abstract: A tray handling apparatus comprises a plurality of guides, a chuck device, a linear movement device, and a rack and pinion device. A space defined by the erected guides is used to hold a tray stack. The chuck of the chuck device is located at the center position of the bottom area of the space. The linear movement device is used to move the chuck relative to the guides. The rack and pinion device is used to cause the guides to move symmetrically. When an operator moves any one of the guides, the other guides move symmetrically and the center of the bottom area of the space surrounded by the guides remains at the same location during the movement of the guides. The operator does not need to adjust the position of the chuck if the positions of the guides are changed.

  • Publication number: 20080267744
Abstract: An automated arrangement for filling a shipping rack structure with water bottles (or any other type of bottle) includes an elevator arrangement and a pusher component, both under the control of a programmed control element (such as a microprocessor), to automatically present a plurality of filled bottles to an open rack “column” and move (push) the bottles from the elevator into the rack. The loader system is pre-programmed with inputs including the array size of the rack being loaded (i.e., how many bottles “deep” along each rail, the number of rows in the rack and the number of columns in the rack). With this information, the elevator will thus lift the proper number of bottles into place to fill a column, and then stop. Once the elevator stops, the pusher component will advance to move the column of bottles into the rack. The pusher then retracts, the elevator is re-started, and the next column of filled bottles is loaded into the elevator.

In accordance with a first aspect of the invention, article handling devices are located beneath a pre-cure station and a curing station of the system to move lens carriers within those stations. As a result of locating these devices beneath these stations, the desired movement of the carriers can be achieved without increasing the footprint of the station. Pursuant to a second aspect of the invention, a complete set of assemblies is provided for moving a multitude of lens carriers into, through, and out from the pre-cure station and the curing station. This set of assemblies accomplishes this movement in a completely automated, high speed, mass production basis. • Publication number: 20040234362
Abstract: There is a jump in the number of devices formed on a single wafer, and it takes a lot of time to inspect a single wafer. In addition, if wafers are inspected every lot, detected wafers remain in staying in a prober until the inspection of all of the wafers is completed. Therefore, the time required to transfer the wafers of each lot to the subsequent step is delayed. As a result, it is difficult to shorten TAT (Turn-Around-Time), and it is difficult to flexibly operate the prober.

  • Publication number: 20030072642
Abstract: A pallet shuttle for presenting pallets to and unloading pallets from a machining center. The pallet shuttle has tow pallet carriers capable of moving pallet to three positions. The motion of the pallet carriers is achieved by a combination of cylinders one of which couples the carriers to each other, and the other of which moves the carriers relative to the base to which the carriers are mounted. By having the capability to move pallets to three positions, the shuttle allows an operator to quickly and efficiently remove finished parts from and put raw parts into the machining center whenever the need arises. The three-position capability allows an operator to have raw parts ready and waiting.

  • Publication number: 20020067985
Abstract: A wafer handling wand allows the efficient loading and unloading of semiconductor wafers to and from a CMP apparatus. The wand includes identical work piece gripping, alignment, and loading/unloading mechanisms on the top and bottom sides. A processed wafer can be unloaded from the apparatus onto one side of the wand and an unprocessed wafer can be loaded into the apparatus from the second side. The gripping mechanism includes a support area and a spaced apart moveable gripping finger. Wafer loading is facilitated by a cam attached to the support area that rotates when the cam contacts the apparatus. Upon rotation, the cam provides a surface for directing the work piece into the apparatus. The surface of the cam also includes an alignment aid that can be brought into contact with a reference surface on the apparatus to insure proper alignment between the wand and the apparatus.
