  • Patent number: 10968058
Abstract: The present invention is a new apparatus to efficiently reclaim cement from a horizontal warehouse. This new reclaiming apparatus combines a mechanical cement reclaiming machine, a U Reclaimer Utility Device Apparatus, together with a reduced amount of open air slides, cement is pushed by a rotating chain with rakes on said reclaiming machine, cement is further fluidized through a porous media with low pressure air, cement flow is achieved by sloping said air slides to match the fluidized angle of repose of the powdered material. Further, the present invention introduces a conveying system, composed by a cascade of enclosed air slides and elevator machines, to convey the cement from the reclaiming area to the dispatch hopper. The introduction of these components, together with traditional cement stacking methods and dispatch systems, provides for a highly efficient manner of storing and reclaiming material from a horizontal storage facility.

  • Patent number: 9211831
Abstract: An apparatus and a method that deploys a liftgate from the cargo space of a contained area is described. In one embodiment the device has an anchor frame permanently attached to the inside of a cargo space and a front linkage member and a rear linkage member pivotably attached to the anchor frame. An actuator is pivotably attached on one end to the rear linkage member and to the anchor frame on the other end. The front and rear linkage bars are further attached on the opposite ends to a mounting member, which is attached to a liftgate. In a nested state the liftgate is stored and locked in a horizontal position above the apparatus. In an engaged state, the front linkage member and rear linkage member rotate and the mounting member translates and rotates through the cargo door opening to reposition the liftgate in a functional position outside of the cargo space.

  • Patent number: 5301844
Abstract: A volumetric dry solids materials feeder comprises a supply hopper, a feed trough disposed below the hopper, and an auger disposed in the feed trough to feed out the material. The trough is anchored to a vibration base, on which is mounted a vibratory mechanism. A vibration transfer spring connects the vibration base to a bracket secured to the hopper. Upon activation, the vibratory mechanism vibrates the vibration base and thus the trough at a predetermined frequency, while the spring transfers the vibration to the hopper. The spring lessens the amplitude of the transferred vibration and changes the frequency thereof, so as to minimize interference (primarily harmonic problems) between the vibration of the hopper and trough.

  • Patent number: 4466760
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile material handler useful for transferring dry, powdered, bulk material from a flat surface to a truck load-out bin, a silo, or another receptacle. More particularly, the invention relates to a mobile material handler having fluidizing means to aerate and to fluidize the material which is received in an open end of the frame of the material handler. The fluidized material flows to the inlet means of a vacuum-pressure pneumatic conveyor which is also mounted to the frame. In a bulk material warehouse and transfer system, material is stored on the generally planar floor of a large warehouse. Within the warehouse, a mobile material handler is moved to transfer dry, bulk, powdered material from the warehouse to a remote truck load-out bin or other receptable.

  • Patent number: 4242026
Abstract: A material handling system for continuous reclaiming or unloading of bulk cargo from the "dead flow" regions of a ship hold. An unloading conveyor is positioned in underlying relation to the hold substantially centrally of the transverse dimension of the hold and moves lengthwise of the hold. The bottom of the hold is provided with gated discharge hoppers in overlying and discharging relation to the unloading conveyor. A suspended reclaim scraper is provided on each of the opposite lateral sides of the longitudinal axis of the ship hold to transfer bulk material laterally from the respective "dead flow" regions to the centrally located discharge hoppers and thus to the underlying unloading conveyor. Each reclaim scraper is suspended by a cable hoist system from a suspension head carried by a trolley which is traversible lengthwise of the hold along a track positioned in the upper portion of the hold, whereby to traverse the reclaim scraper longitudinally of the hold.

  • Patent number: 4217996
Abstract: A material feeding device for storing and feeding material and especially granulated material such as sawdust, wood chips, nut shells, or corn cobs at a controlled rate. The device includes a hopper which is preferably tapered toward its outlet end and a drive assembly which revolves a radial rotor arm carrying a rotating agitator toward the material at a controlled rate for loosening of the material. The rotatable agitator has outward projections and extends through the hopper. Such revolution and rotation of the agitator prepares the material by release by loosening and moving the material in the hopper upwardly allowing it to fall freely downwardly under gravity through the hopper outlet. If desired, the direction of rotation of the agitator may be reversed to force the material downwardly. Revolution and rotation of the agitator may also be controlled with an adjustable brake assembly. The agitator may be heated to loosen it if the material to be fed is frozen.

  • Patent number: 4149845
Abstract: The rabbles of this invention have a concave active face. They are used in a system for processing material including, for example, a substantially circular and horizontal floor, and a rabble system disposed above, but adjacent to, said floor. The rabble system urges material on the floor to desired locations, such as discharge openings, in response to relative motion between the floor and the rabble system. The rabble system includes a plurality of rabbles. Substantially each rabble has a body portion which carries a curved or angled surface. This curved or angled surface defines a concave active face. Each rabble also has a leading edge substantially perpendicular to the floor. The concave active face extends from the leading edge and is both substantially parallel to the leading edge and substantially perpendicular to the floor. Said rabbles are preferably oriented in a system with their body portion adjacent their leading edges at an angle in the range of about 0.degree. to about .+-.13.degree.
