Abstract: Apparatus for mounting, demounting and tipping a container designed to be carried on a motor vehicle in which a four bar linkage is mounted both to the vehicle and to the container. For mounting and demounting, the four bar linkage is made linearly translatable along the bed of the vehicle. Hydraulic piston and cylinder arrangements are provided to pivot select links of the four bar linkage to a position in which the container is placed on the ground. For tipping, select links of the four bar linkage are rendered immobile with respect to each other and a piston and cylinder assembly activated to tip the container on the vehicle bed.

Abstract: An improved vehicle is described which is adapted both for the handling of refuse containers and for general utility purposes. The vehicle has a chassis, an elongated lifting frame supported by the chassis, and means for elevating a rearward segment of the frame with respect to a rear segment of the chassis. Refuse container engaging arms are supported near a rear segment of the lifting frame and a utility vehicle body is mounted on the lifting frame. The vertical position of the container engaging arms is varied in accordance with movement of the lifting frame.

Abstract: Erection means for a transport trailer which hauls an elongated object of relatively large cross-section in horizontal position and then with the aid of hydraulic jacks stands the object erectly on a preformed foundation.

Abstract: A separate container and receiving trailer adapted for raising and lowering of a said separate container such that the container may be lowered to the ground and left in a stationary position while the trailer may be towed to other work areas. When desired the trailer may be returned to receive the container and then raised to engage and haul the container to other locations. Further the trailer is adapted for raising one end of the container so as to dump the contents thereof when desired.

Abstract: Containerized freight is loaded onto a vehicle by attaching an elongated pod frame to one end of the freight container, applying a lift force to the other end of the container to reposition the container above the plane of the bed on the vehicle, backing the vehicle into the space beneath the container, and lowering the container onto the vehicle bed for transport to another location.
