Abstract: A measuring flask 10 is described for use in a mine shaft assembly. The measuring flask 10 includes a body 12, a discharge opening 25, a door 24, and a pressurised fluid actuated door locking mechanism 40. The body 12 defines a storage chamber having a sloping bottom 22 and the discharge opening 25 is defined in the body 12 adjacent to the sloping bottom 22. The door 24 is displaceable between a closed position in which it closes the discharge opening 25 and an open position in which is permits material to be discharged from the measuring flask 10 through the opening 25. The door locking mechanism 40 is operable to lock the door 24 releasably in its closed position. Instead or in addition to the door locking mechanism 40, the measuring flask 10 has a resilient door retaining arrangement 50 configured to retain the door 24 releasably in its closed position.
Abstract: A mixing apparatus for dry or wet ingredients is disclosed, which comprises an upwardly inclined trackway, and a mixing container mounted for rolling movement along the trackway. The trackway includes a scale at the lower end which permits the container and its contents to be weighed, and so that predetermined amounts of a number of ingredients may be loaded into the container. A power system is provided for pulling the container upwardly along the trackway, and such that the container is subjected to a rotary motion for mixing the ingredients, and a simultaneous linear transport to an elevated position. The container includes unique internal mixing vanes which facilitate mixing of the ingredients during rotation of the container, and which also permit substantially all of the mixed ingredients to be freely discharged by gravity at the elevated discharge location.
Abstract: A suspension for a replaceable hydraulically operable tool attachment on the tool holder excavator or crane comprises a fork member pivoted to the tool holder by pivot pins which contain bores to establish hydraulic communication between fluid supply and discharge passages in the tool holder and associated passages in the fork member leading to the tool.
