Abstract: A lift truck attachment for handling loads comprises a main frame assembly for attachment to an elevator of a lift truck and a lower slide assembly. The lower slide assembly includes an elongated sliding element for performing a reciprocal motion relative to the main frame assembly. A bottom slide cross tube is furnished and has an elongated structure extending substantially perpendicular to the elongated sliding element. An elongated pusher plate is attached to the bottom slide cross tube and extends substantially parallel to the elongated sliding element. A first shear plate has a first hole and is attached to an end of the bottom side cross tube. A second shear plate has a second hole and is rotatably attached to the first shear plate with a rotation axis disposed substantially parallel to the elongated sliding element. The first hole and the second hole have the same distance from the rotation axis. A threaded safety bolt penetrates through the first hole and through the second hole.

Abstract: The hand truck/forklift as disclosed in this application is new and useful as an improvement of the conventional hand truck in that it enables lifting of loads up to four feet high as-well-as transporting loads commonly carried on a conventional hand truck. This lever operated lift is also an improvement in that it enables lifting of heavy loads by a person without the use of more expensive power operated lifts where space and environmental concerns make them impractical to operate. This lever operated lift enables the operator to lift heavy loads safely equaling the lifters body weight plus his lift strength while keeping his back in an up-right posture. The lever lift assembly is also new and useful in that it allows the operator to lift a load and allows that load to be held at a selected height by use of a sleeved punched post frame assembly with spring loaded set pins which are manually retracted by use of hand operated cable from the lever side of the lift.

Abstract: A lift truck for use with containers of the type used as a shipping bin and display bin, the lift truck having a lower frame mounted on wheels, an upper frame, a plurality of linking arms extending between the lower frame and upper frame with each of the linking arms being pivotably connected to both the upper and lower frames, each of the upper and lower frames having first and second longitudinally extending frame members, a handle pivotably connected to the lower frame member, the arrangement being such that in a first lower position the linking arms permit the upper frame to be adjacent the lower frame to move into position to receive the container or bin, while a movement of the handle causes the upper frame to move upwardly and be spaced from the lower frame by the linking arms such that the container is lifted upwardly.

  • Patent number: 6112612
Abstract: A single lever hand control for multiple functions having two distinct axes of movement. In the case of a stand-up, battery powered lift truck having a mast, a carriage with forks raised and lowered on the mast, and the forks side shifted on the carriage, which also can be tilted from vertical, forward or back, the operator stands facing to the side with reference to the direction of travel of the truck. Movement of the control lever right to left from a neutral position relative to the direction the operator is facing controls the forward or reverse direction and the speed of the truck. The mast and carriage operations are controlled by the lever being pushed or pulled by the operator transversely to the direction of travel. The force required to displace the lever in one direction is less than that required in the other consistent with the large muscle groups employed to overcome the respective forces.

  • Patent number: 5931048
Abstract: A manipulator for a test head connected to automatic test equipment through a heavy, inflexible cable. The manipulator includes a telescoping column assembly to which is mounted a vertical member. A cradle holding the test head is mounted to the vertical member. The cable is clamped at the vertical member to reduce the amount of force exerted by the cable on the test head. The cradle includes movable members to allow fine positioning of the test head, while maintaining the test head isolated from cable force. Course motion of the test head may be made by moving portions of the manipulator on the opposite side of the cable clamp from the test head. Precise positioning of the test head relative to a handling device is accomplished through a positioning mechanism at the interface between the test head and the handling device. To allow the positioning mechanism to operate, the manipulator has compliance which allows the test head to be forced into position by the positioning mechanism.
