Abstract: In one form a capacitive sensor is disclosed for immersion into a fluid, the capacitive sensor having a housing and first and second electrodes with the first electrode being disposed at least partially within the housing and electrically connected to a circuit, the second electrode being electrically connected to the circuit via an electrical connection and physically separated from the housing containing at least a portion of the first electrode so that at least a portion of the electrical connection or second electrode is located above or outside of the fluid to reduce the risk that minerals will form between the electrodes. In another form the electrodes are separated into their own cavities of the sensor housing via a bridging member which separates the electrodes to help reduce the risk of mineral buildup occurring between the electrodes. In other forms, capacitors, capacitive sensors, pump controls and systems utilizing these features are disclosed along with methods and apparatus relating to same.

  • Patent number: 7918654
Abstract: A vacuum pump capable of pumping solid, liquid and gas, or any combination thereof, including a drive (40) and a manually disengageable pumping system connected thereto. The pumping system is composed of a two- or three-chambered canister (1, 18, 21) within which solids, liquids, and gases can be separated from one another. A highly flexible diaphragm (24) attached to the canister and sealed against it circumferentially, facilitates this separation, when reciprocating and pumping. The components of the pumping system are designed to be disposable, and the two- or three-chambered canister provides for a highly efficient pumping system that is significantly smaller in size than those previously known. The pump is particularly useful for medical applications.

Abstract: Disclosed is an ice making apparatus and method whereby the cleanliness of ice is improved through the use of ozone (O3). The invention utilizes a volute aspirator that is positioned within the intake of a conventional sump pump. The vacuum generated by the pump draws upon both a supply of ozone and water, whereby the ozone is entrained within the water. The presence of the ozone within the water inhibits the growth of bacteria and other contaminates. The ozonated water is then used in the production of ice.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a compressor including a compressor main body (20) for compressing refrigerant, a shell (100) for accommodating the refrigerant and the compressor main body (20), and mounts (130) attached to the front and rear of the shell (100) for the installation of the shell (100), and having a natural frequency controlled according to a natural frequency of the shell (100) for the dynamic vibration absorption. In an assembly state where the compressor main body (20) and the shell (100) are completely coupled to each other, the shell (100) is exited by an impact hammer and the natural frequency of the shell (100) is measured. As the natural frequency of the mount (130) is controlled according to the natural frequency of the shell (100) to absorb vibration, Vibration of the shell (100) can be prevented. That is, the mount functions as a dynamic vibration absorber to suppress vibration and noise of the shell (100).

An air outlet of a centrifugal separator is connected to the suction side of the radial fan. At least one drive motor controlled by a control unit, and in the form of a rotating electric motor, drives the radial fan and the centrifugal separator. A fan drive motor and a separator drive motor are arranged, uncoupled in terms of rotation, one behind the other on a common shaft fixed to the housing. The respective stators are supported by the common shaft. The rotating parts of the radial fan are fixedly connected to the rotor of the fan drive motor, and the rotating parts of the centrifugal separator are fixedly connected to the rotor of the separator drive motor and are mounted so as to rotate coaxially with respect to the shaft fixed to the housing.

Abstract: A fluid separator device allows for introducing air entrained in a liquid flow to a centrifugal pump in a manner that will not allow the pump to become gas bound. One example device designed according to this invention includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet downstream of the inlet. An air chamber is positioned on an opposite side of the inlet from the outlet. An air flow passage allows air from the air chamber to be introduced near a rotor assembly input of a centrifugal pump such that relatively small air bubbles are introduced to the liquid flow through the rotor assembly in a manner that prevents the air bubbles from recollecting into a larger bubble that would otherwise interfere with the centrifugal pump operation.
