  • Patent number: 6336794
Abstract: A rotary compressor assembly is provided which effectively reduces the vibration and noise occurring during the operation of the rotary compressor of the assembly. The compressor is fixedly mounted on a supporting plate. Vibration dampening members are received in corresponding supporting holes in the plate and serve to support the plate in spaced relation to an installation surface. The geometric center of the supporting holes is disposed so as to coincide with the center of gravity of the rotary compressor including an associated accumulator. As a result, the load is uniformly applied to each dampening member, and the rotary compressor is supported in a stable manner, thereby effectively reducing the vibration and noise associated with compressor operation.

  • Patent number: 5823093
Abstract: The fluid end of a reciprocating pump contains a plurality of manifold cylinders for pumping fluid. The fluid end has an improved liner assembly with a shaft, a coaxial piston, and a liner with a liner seal on an outward end. The liner and seal abut an inner wall of the manifold to prevent pressurized fluid leakage between the liner and the manifold. The liner is pressed against the manifold by an adjustment mechanism which is mounted to a housing surrounding the pump. The adjustment mechanism is spaced axially away from the manifold wall and allows the liner to self-adjust to the wall without the need for a liner bushing. A support device is provided for assisting in the vertical alignment of the liner assembly prior to the liner being pressed tightly against the manifold wall.

  • Patent number: 5823752
Abstract: The disclosure involves a prime mover and a pump-mount adapter mounted thereto. The adapter includes a central housing and a plurality of arms extending radially outwardly from the housing and coupled to the prime mover. Resilient mounts are used for such coupling and a rigid compression limiter prevents such mounts from being compressed to the degree that substantial resiliency is lost. The housing contains a liquid lubricant for lubricating the pump. A resilient seal device is between the housing and the prime mover and retains the lubricant in the housing. And after assembly, the housing is maintaining in a spaced relationship to the prime mover. The new mounting arrangement permits relatively generous manufacturing tolerances while yet permitting the prime mover and adapter-mounted pump to radially and angularly "self-align" during assembly.

Abstract: A linear compressor includes a casing, and a cylinder member suspended by springs from the casing. The cylinder member forms a compression chamber in which a piston is reciprocated by a linear motor. The motor includes a first stator situated inside of the piston, and a second stator situated opposite the first stator outside of the piston. The cylinder member comprises spaced apart first and second cylinder blocks with the second stator clamped therebetween. The first cylinder block contains the compression chamber, and the second cylinder block carries a hollow guide extending into the piston, with the first stator mounted on an outer surface of the guide. The piston includes an axial shaft reciprocally guided within the hollow guide. The piston carries a first magnet. A coil disposed between the first and second stators generates a magnetic field passing across the magnet to cause the piston to reciprocate.

Abstract: A vibration damping arrangement for improving the structure-borne noise isolation of a hydraulic unit forming part of a slip-controlled brake system from a vehicle. The hydraulic unit is supported elastically on the vehicle, below its center of gravity, on three rubber spring elements. In this arrangement, the rubber spring elements are situated both in front of and behind a vertical projection of the center of gravity and symmetrically in and on both sides of a vertical plane passing through the center of gravity. In addition, the three rubber spring elements are arranged along the lateral surface of an imaginary circular cylinder, on the horizontally extending longitudinal axis of which the center of gravity of the hydraulic unit lies. The rubber spring elements are formed of disk springs, the ends of which, carry fastening elements, extend approximately tangentially to the lateral surface of the imaginary circular cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5649812
Abstract: The present invention is a wobble plate pump typically used in a reverse osmosis water purification system. The pump has a piston that is coupled to a wobble plate by a rocker arm. The piston has a stem which snaps into a corresponding sleeve of a diaphragm. The diaphragm is attached to the rocker arm and extends across the inner diameter of the pump to provide an inner pump seal. The piston stem and diaphragm sleeve extend through an access opening in a diaphragm support plate. The access opening of the wobble plate has an inner lip defined by a first relatively small radius near the center of the pump and a second relatively larger radius at the outer portion of the pump. The dual radiuses allow the piston to symmetrically reciprocate about a surface of the diaphragm support plate without inducing excessive stresses in the diaphragm. The symmetrical reciprocating motion maximizes the compression ratio of the pump. The piston reciprocates within a pump chamber defined by a manifold plate.

  • Patent number: 5548867
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vibroisolating apparatus for a vacuum cleaner adapted to absorb and inhibit the vibrations generated in a suction motor from being transmitted to a body of the vacuum cleaner to thereby reduce the noise resulting from the vibration to a minimum, and at the same time, to improve the ease of assembling and to decrease manufacturing cost by way of a simplified construction. The vibration generated in the suction motor during operations is absorbed and inhibited at a front side of the motor by a vibroisolating ring which is tightly disposed between a front motor case and the suction motor. The vibration is also absorbed and inhibited at a rear side of the motor by the rear surface packing which is disposed between a rear motor case and the motor. The apparatus thereby reduces generation of noise resulting from the vibration of the suction motor to a minimum and provides for relatively silent operation of the vacuum cleaner.
