    Abstract: A transfer pump includes a motor that attaches to a manifold with a motor mount that seals a top end of the manifold. The motor mount includes a tubular portion that extends into and threadably engages the manifold, to cooperatively define a channel therethrough. The manifold includes a plurality of inlet ports arranged generally in an annular pattern. An inner cylinder attaches to the manifold from below, disposed radially inward from the inlet ports, and a pressure cylinder attaches to the manifold, disposed radially outward from the inlet ports. The pressure cylinder includes a foot valve. A pump shaft extends from the motor, through the channel, and into the pressure cylinder. A large piston with a check valve is attached to the distal end of the shaft, and a small piston disposed in the inner cylinder is attached at an intermediate location.

    Abstract: A downhole pump is operated by a non-electric motor preferably a steam turbine. In a steam assisted gravity drain system the producing well is U-shaped. A steam supply line runs into the turbine that drives the pump after the steam supply passes through a packer. The steam exhaust runs through a shroud until the U-shaped well turns back to go up to the surface. Pump suction is thus separated from steam discharge to reduce mixing as the path of least resistance for the discharged steam when it exits the shroud is up to the surface. The exhaust steam keeps the produced fluids warm and flowing. An injector well runs parallel and slightly above the horizontal portion of the U-shaped producing well.

    Abstract: A mechanical drive train for testing a full scale compressor rig is disclosed. The drive train can include an electric motor, a gear box, and a gas turbine. The compressor rig is coupled to the drive train between the gear box and gas turbine. The drive train can further include a torque converter for transferring torque from the electric motor to the compressor rig. The drive train is configured to test a full scale compressor rig over the entire speed and load operating range, allowing for full compressor mapping from choke to stall at full load, part load (power turn down) and partial speed conditions. The drive train can also be used to test a compressor rig or gas turbine over the full range of operability for the compressor rig or gas turbine without having to connect the gas turbine to the power grid at the power generation site.

    Abstract: A rotary air motor driven hydraulic pump has separate pressure and return actuators and first and second stage eccentric driven pistons 180 degrees out of phase and driven by the motor through a gear reduction unit. The pressure and return actuators are on/off/proportional valves and the pump has two pressure relief valves with one adjustable from outside of the pump for a user to set a pressure limit of the pump. Above a certain output pressure limit, a bypass valve shunts flow in excess of that needed to precharge the second stage compression chamber from the first stage piston to an elastic reservoir from which the hydraulic fluid pumped by the pump is drawn. To make the pump stall at a certain output pressure, a pressure limiting valve can be used that cuts off the air supply to the pump at the desired output pressure.
