  • Patent number: 11598345
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to use of RF and WiFi control in a fan device to control fan status and speed and/or fan light on/off status and intensity. A customer premises includes a WiFi router through which WiFi communications can be sent from a WiFi capable device, e.g., a cell phone, to control the fan device and its various functions. While WiFi control is via a WiFi router in the home, the control signals normally do not traverse the Internet or another external network. In addition to WiFi control, control of the fan device can be via an RF control device, e.g., a wall mounted controller. In some embodiments, the fan device reports its state and/or changes in state due to received commands to a server, and the server generates a recommended normal control schedule and an away control schedule and then uses the schedules to control fan device.

Abstract: A fuel pump includes a cartridge removably received within a canister. The cartridge includes a motor assembly, and a pump assembly that includes a centrifugal pumping element and outlet porting from the centrifugal pumping element. The motor drives the centrifugal pumping element to generate a flow of fluid through a main flow pathway between a pump inlet and outlet through the outlet porting of the pump assembly. The cartridge further includes a pressure relief valve that is movable between a closed position and an open position, and defines a pressure relief flow pathway integrally within the cartridge from the outlet porting to inlet porting of the centrifugal pumping element. When pressure within the pump assembly exceeds a threshold pressure, the pressure relief valve moves from the closed position to the open position to permit a relief flow of fluid through the relief flow pathway. The fuel pump may be employed as part of an aircraft fuel system.

Abstract: The well pump flow sleeve assembly provides a method of quickly fitting a flow sleeve to a well pump. The sleeve is made by cutting a pipe normal to the pipe centerline of the pipe surfaces, to a length appropriate for the well pump length. A pump centering bottom cap is inserted into the pipe lower opening and the well pump assembly is then inserted into the pipe upper opening and mates with the bottom cap to align the pump in the sleeve. The pump is now completely within the sleeve with the pump discharge and electrical connection extending through the pipe upper opening. Two flow sleeve cap halves are then fitted around the pump discharge and electrical connection/safety rope to form an upper cap which is inserted into the pipe upper opening. The submersible pump is then ready for service.

Abstract: Isolated pressure compensating electrical motor connections and related methods are provided. According to an example of a sealed motor electrical connection, the connection incorporates a sealed female motor connection positioned to receive a male motor connector. The female motor connector has one or more independent dielectric oil chambers each pressure compensated by a bellow or similar device interfaced with the motorhead oil and/or well annulus fluid to thereby pressure compensate the chamber pressure of the female motor connection with that of the internal motor and/or well annulus. This configuration locates the electrical connection point of the motor lead extension with the motor lead wires to a separate area outside the motor to thereby prevent the occurrence of phase to phase or phase to ground shorts occurring in this critical area due to conductive element contamination that may reside in the motor oil or the well bore fluids.

A chamber is formed which has the diluent/water inlet and a bottom surface and a top end covered by a removable lid. The removable lid has a hole large enough for a motor to be partially seated within the chamber and the motor has a shaft with supports that is connected to a cover plate that has through holes, and a rotor below the cover plate with a set of radially oriented vanes. The hole in the lid is bigger than the cross section of the cover plate and so the motor, shaft, supports, rotors and cover plate can be pulled out as desired for easier maintenance. When the motor is seated properly in the hole of the lid, the cover plate seats properly along the edge of a cylindrically shaped pump cavity. The cover plate and the edge form a seal. Abstract: The invention concerns a method for mounting a drive shaft (19) of a compressor, particularly a hermetical refrigerant compressor, which has a motor with a stator (1) and a rotor (23), connected with the drive shaft (19) and located in a rotor opening (4) of the stator (1), a first bearing support (8) and a second bearing support (29) being connected with the stator (1), a first bearing (15) for the drive shaft (19) being mounted in the first bearing support (8) and a second bearing (28) for the drive shaft (19) being mounted in the second bearing support (29). It is endeavoured to provide a method for mounting a drive shaft, in which the use of components with relatively large manufacturing tolerances will still result in a good alignment of the drive shaft in relation to the stator. For this purpose, at least the first bearing support (8) is provided with a positioning stop for the first bearing (15) after mounting the first bearing support (8) on the stator (1).

Abstract: A fan trays assembly is made of one or small number of cast or injection molded (collectively “cast”) components. Each component can be cast of plastic, metal or another material. One of the components of the fan tray includes a front wall, a back wall, two side walls, an inner wall defining a Venturi and a motor housing suspended within the Venturi by one or more structural members. The walls, the motor housing and the structural member(s) are all formed as a single casting. Casting these pieces together reduces the complexity and cost of manufacturing the fan trays. Multi-fan fan trays and modular fan trays can be similarly made.

In a dual operation mode, well fluid flows through the inlet of the capsule into the upstream chamber, where it is pumped to a first pressure level by the upstream pump assembly and discharged into the downstream chamber. The downstream pump assembly then pumps the well fluid to a second pressure level and discharges the well fluid out the outlet of the capsule. Abstract: A frameless switched reluctance motor (SRM) has a stator sandwiched between two housings. Axial load on the rotor shaft is directed through a first bearing, through the first housing to the stator and through the second housing to a motor support. Heat is dissipated using low-loss electrical steel, one or more air movers and air passages through the motor. Preferably a stator profile enables the air passages to be formed through the stator's lamination stack. Optionally air is routed through passages between the coils and through air passages along the air gap and radially through passages between an upper and a lower stator. A first self aligning bearing adapts to misalignment between the first housing and the shaft and a second bearing is provided with transverse movement. Preferably, the frameless motor is adapted for support to a wellhead for driving a downhole rotary pump and a rotary rod string.
