  • Patent number: 7748967
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a linear compressor in which a piston reciprocally moves in a cylinder upon receiving a reciprocating drive force of a linear motor to compress working-fluid, for example, refrigerant, received in the cylinder. The linear compressor comprises the piston adapted to reciprocally move in the cylinder, the piston being internally formed with a suction path, a suction valve to open or close the suction path of the piston to selectively connect the suction path of the piston to the interior of the cylinder, and a suction valve stopper to limit the degree of opening of the suction valve, whereby no excessive stress is applied to the suction valve. This has the effect of eliminating damage and deformation of the suction valve, minimizing vibration and noise due to the opening/closing operations of the suction valve, and maintaining the compression efficiency of the compressor at a constant value.

Abstract: A pump device and method minimizes the quantity of air in a vehicle brake system by reducing the volume of detrimental space. The device includes a piston movable between first and second end points, a line system that conducts fluid through the device, and a closing element, movable between an open position releasing the flow of the fluid and a closed position interrupting the fluid flow, that selectively releases the flow of the fluid through the device. The line system includes a through-line formed in the piston for conducting the fluid through the piston. By virtue of a section of the through-line that receives the closing element in the piston, a force is generated that is transmittable from the fluid to the closing element that moves the closing element in the direction of its closed position when the piston is moving in the direction of the first end point.

  • Patent number: 6840747
Abstract: A positive-displacement oil pump is disclosed. In the oil pump, an insert body is fitted into a central opening of a shaft body to a height of an oil-feeding hole. The insert body is rotated along with the shaft body, and includes a central hole formed in the insert body, a cylindrical lip formed around an outlet of the central hole, a fluid discharge diode provided in an inlet of the central hole, and an inclined groove formed around an outer circumferential surface of the insert body such that the inclined groove forms a closed curve. A piston is movably fitted over the insert body such that the piston is axially moved while changing a volume of a displacement space defined between the insert body and the piston.

Abstract: A pressure-limiting pump system for pressurizing a vessel, including a plunger terminating in a piston loose-fitting within a cylinder. The piston includes a flange forming the lip of an annular groove in the piston for supporting an O-ring seal. The groove is provided with a plurality of ports terminating in the piston within the cylinder. The O-ring is slidable on the piston groove surface. On the intake stroke, the O-ring moves to uncover the ports, and on the compression stroke, the O-ring moves to cover the ports to seal the compression chamber. When pressure exceeds a predetermined level, further compression causes air to bypass the O-ring and escape from the chamber, thereby limiting system pressure. The pump system may be mounted on-axis or off-axis in a tank sidearm. A handle is secured to the sprayer tank via shoulder inserts and is pivotable out of the way when filling the tank, yet can be locked in position as desired by a shift in pivot position.

Abstract: The fluid machine can be used as a pump, compressor, motor and internal combustion engine and is characterized by two mobile opposite cylinders fixed rigidly to each other. Said cylinders move simultaneously in the same direction. Inside the opposite cylinders there are two fixed opposite pistons rigidly secured to the housing and each said piston is made with suction and discharge valves designed to connect the working cavity between the corresponding piston and cylinder with low and high pressure sources. Within one cycle of the reciprocating movements of opposite cylinders (direct and back) the liquid is twice sucked into cylinder chambers from the low pressure source and is supplied twice under pressure to the high pressure source.

Abstract: A fuel pump for an automotive vehicle includes a housing having an opening extending therethrough, and a piston slidably supported within the opening. A pair of end caps are mounted to the housing, thereby encasing the piston within the opening. First and second pumping chambers are defined by the opening, first and second ends of the piston, and the end caps. Each of the first and second pumping chambers has an inlet adapted to allow fuel to flow into the pumping chambers and an outlet adapted to allow fuel to flow out of the pumping chambers. A drive device is adapted to move the piston back and forth within the opening, thereby alternately increasing and decreasing the volumes of the first and second pumping chambers.
