Abstract: The present low pressure bolt carrier group is configured to maximize the axial force component, and minimize the radial force component, applied to both the bolt carrier and the bolt under low-pressure gas conditions, so that the two separate with greater acceleration and under greater force than a standard bolt carrier group when firing low-pressure ammunition. Thus, the present low-pressure bolt carrier group effectively and completely ejects the spent case and chambers the next round. These and other benefits are provided by the present low-pressure bolt carrier group comprising one or more of an increased piston bore diameter, an increased piston diameter, an increased flatness of the piston surface in the radial plane, and an increased stroke length of the piston by lengthening the cam pin slot. Therefore, the present low-pressure bolt carrier group solves long-persisting problems with standard bolt carrier groups when using low-pressure rounds.

The lower receiver includes a static ejector that can be easily configured for right hand or left hand positions within the same lower receiver and a magazine button assembly having a left magazine button and a right magazine button that are operatively coupled together so that either magazine button can be pushed to release the magazine. This allows the gun builder to use this one lower receiver to build a right or left handed rifle.

  • Patent number: 10670354
Abstract: Components of a firearm having a bolt with locking lugs improve shooting accuracy, due to increased coaxial alignment between the bolt, the cartridge, the receiver, and/or the barrel of a firearm. The receiver inner surface is shaped for lug-cleaning and for close tolerance/mating with the lugs only in the locked position and also with a non-threaded, axial surface of the barrel. Thus, the mating surfaces that are instrumental and/or that mainly control coaxial alignment of the receiver, bolt, and barrel are located between the lug stops and the threaded end of the receiver. The lugs may be axially curved or otherwise axially non-linear to tolerate dirt and other debris in a field environment.

  • Patent number: 10619971
Abstract: A handguard assembly system for a firearm is disclosed. The system includes a handguard with an elongate perforated structure extending between a first end and a second end, where the handguard defines a handguard connector on the first end. An interfacing connector attaches to the handguard connector when the handguard is installed on the firearm. When installed on the firearm, the handguard extends over the barrel without directly contacting the barrel, and attaches to the firearm via the interfacing connector and an upper receiver connector on the firearm upper receiver.

  • Patent number: 10612887
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a foldable firearm that collapses into a folded state under spring pressure. The foldable firearm may include a foldable grip assembly. The foldable grip assembly may include a foldable pistol grip, a foldable trigger assembly, a folding bar, and a foldable hand stop. The foldable grip assembly may fold into the top shell of the foldable firearm. The foldable firearm may also include an ambidextrous charging handle assembly that may include a bottom portion, a top portion, a guide bar, and two opposing charging handles. The charging handles may be pulled to unfold the foldable firearm, and/or butterflied such that pivoting one charging handle causes the other charging handle to pivot. The first-pivoted charging handle may then be pulled rearwards to unfold the firearm. The first-pivoted charging handle may then be pulled further rearwards to rack the slide of the foldable firearm.

  • Patent number: 10605548
Abstract: A replacement takedown pin for a firearm of the type having an upper receiver, a lower receiver, and a rear takedown pin mechanism comprises an elongated cylindrical body having a pin capture mechanism at a distal end thereof, a knob at a proximal end thereof, and a clearance notch at a central portion thereof. When the knob is in an engaged rotational position, the notch of the cylindrical body is misaligned with the catch of the takedown pin mechanism, preventing the upper receiver from being removed from the lower receiver. When the knob is rotated to a disengaged rotational position, the notch of the cylindrical body becomes aligned with the catch of the takedown pin mechanism of the firearm, thereby allowing the catch to pass the takedown pin and allowing the upper receiver to be separated from the lower receiver.

  • Patent number: 10458731
Abstract: A bolt for a bolt-action firearm in one embodiment is movably disposed in a receiver between forward closed breech and rearward open breech axial positions. The bolt includes an operating handle and plurality of bolt lugs arranged to selectively engage locking lugs in the firearm. The bolt is rotatable between locked and unlocked breech positions when in the closed breech position. The bolt body has a dimensionally reduced middle section with unique configuration adapted to allow the bolt to rotate when closed without interference from the magazine feed lips. Using this design, the bolt may include three bolt lugs in one embodiment for secure lockup and minimal angular rotation between the locked and unlocked breech positions. The bolt is usable with both single and double stack box type magazines with one of the bolt lugs operating to reliably strip cartridges from either type magazine.
