Patent number: 11933563Abstract: A rifle has a fixed main body, including a barrel, a receiver with an upper opening, and a breech element. A trigger group is at least partially housed in the receiver, including a trigger, a hammer device operable by the trigger, and a safety member positionable in a shooting position, disengaged from the hammer device and in a safety position, engaged with and blocking the hammer device. A carriage assembly with a shutter group is positioned on the receiver at the upper opening and axially movable by the user between an advanced shooting configuration and a retracted rearming configuration. The carriage assembly includes a safety group controllable by the user, with the carriage assembly in the advanced configuration, in a ready-to-shoot configuration, in which it is disengaged from the safety member, and a safety configuration, in which it engages and keeps the safety member in the safety position.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: FABBRICA D'ARMI PIETRO BERETTA S.P.A.Inventors: Ennio Plebani, Calogero Spoto

Patent number: 11598596Abstract: A firearm system is provided. A pump-action firearm, such as a shotgun, includes a buffer attached to a trigger housing. The buffer consists of a resilient or semi-resilient material and is positioned such as to face towards an opening the receiver in which the magazine tube is partially received. The buffer includes a contoured bottom surface and an upper surface, configured in a way which shortens the space available within an opening of a receiver while accommodating the loading of shells into a magazine tube. Upon moving a shell into the opening, such as by pumping the action, the shell impacts the buffer, which stabilizes the shell prior to being lifted by an elevators. For shorter shells, this reduces the risk of a jamming event. For longer shells, the buffer is configured to compress to accommodate the additional length.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2021Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS, INC.Inventors: Derek Parker, Thaddeus Boruchowski, David Johnson, Wayne Hopkins

Patent number: 10739091Abstract: A high capacity handgun/pistol is disclosed with a horizontally oriented magazine that is aligned with and disposed beneath the gun barrel. The magazine defines a plurality of hollow tubes arranged radially around a central axis about which the magazine can rotate automatically during operation of the handgun/pistol. The hollow tubes each contain a plurality of ammunition rounds, and can each be aligned with a loading tray one at a time, wherein a coil spring will push out a single round at a time onto the loading tray. The handgun uses a gun slide to load a new round into the chamber via the loading tray, and further enabling the loading tray to automatically rotate the magazine as each hollow tube becomes empty. Moreover, the slide will re-set a hammer to re-engage with a sear, after a pulled trigger releases the hammer to strike a firing pin.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2018Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Inventors: Makin Mesco, Mikhal Mesco, Richard Mesco

Patent number: 10422600Abstract: A collapsible pistol features enhanced safety, ease of use, and improved performance as compared to prior designs. The pistol is easily reconfigured from an open, ready-to-fire position to a closed or collapsed position that makes the pistol quite compact, safe, and readily concealable. The overall design of the pistol is such that the manipulation of the pistol into and out of the open, ready-to-fire position can be accomplished with a user having relatively small hands and/or relatively low grip strength.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2018Date of Patent: September 24, 2019Inventor: William S. Patent number: 9335111Abstract: Disclosed is an anti-bounce firearm hammer including a hammer member mountable in a firearm for pivotal movement about an axis. The hammer member includes a head portion with a strike face radially spaced from the pivot axis. A mass is attached to and movable with the hammer member in a direction substantially toward and away from the strike face. The mass has freedom of movement such that the mass will continue to move a limited distance independent of the hammer member after pivotal movement of the hammer member has stopped.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2015Date of Patent: May 10, 2016Assignee: Spike's Tactical, LLCInventor: Thomas James Miller, III

Patent number: 9121655Abstract: The present invention provides a means for restricting access to the trigger guard enclosure of a long gun. The present invention enshrouds the perimeter of the trigger guard enclosure preventing access when not in use. When the weapon is in use, the present invention slides away from the trigger guard enclosure and secures as a handgrip for use while aiming and firing the weapon, all the while remaining permanently affixed to the weapon.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2014Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Inventors: William Lewis Murphy, II, Robert Vail Harvey

Patent number: 8733009Abstract: A magazine cutoff device for a firearm with a tube-type magazine, such as, e.g., semi-automatic shotgun. The cutoff device may be moveably mounted to accommodate at least two positions, on and off. The user may activate the cutoff, pull the bolt to the rear, eject a chambered shell, and lock the bolt to the rear while retaining any shells in the magazine.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2012Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: RA Brands, L.L.C.Inventor: Jonathan Ricks

Publication number: 20080163531Abstract: A trigger safety for a firearm having a frame and slide. The safety includes a safety assembly frame mountable within the firearm frame. The safety also includes at least one actuator operatively attached to the safety assembly frame, the actuator being capable of selectively moving the safety assembly frame between a first position and a second position. The assembly frame also has an abutment surface. In the first position the abutment surface contacts a trigger bar of the firearm preventing movement of the trigger and discharge of the firearm while allowing the slide to be cycled and in the second position the abutment surface is not in contact with the trigger bar and the firearm can be discharged.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2008Publication date: July 10, 2008Applicant: SMITH & WESSON CORP.Inventors: GARY E. Patent number: 6510778Abstract: The present invention relates to an automatic bolt hold-open rotating assembly to convert a manual bolt hold-open function to an automatic bolt hold-open function in automatic and semi-automatic pistols and rifles, such as the Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle. The components of the assembly readily replace standard factory components in the trigger assembly and replace the standard magazine. The assembly comprises a magazine with channel cutout, a bolt stop, a bolt stop handle for manual manipulation of the assembly, a bolt stop spring to apply clockwise pressure on assembly, a cartridge detecting lever which also serves as a cartridge ejector pivotably mounted on bolt stop with an extension which interfaces with channel cutout of magazine, a tab protruding from the ejector lever which rides in a slot on the bolt stop to limit pivoting of the cartridge detecting lever, and a lever spring allowing counter-clockwise pivoting of cartridge detecting lever to facilitate insertion of recharged magazine.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2000Date of Patent: January 28, 2003Assignee: Custom Shooting Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Michael B.
