Additive Contains Metal, Boron, Or Silicon Patents (Class 423/271)
  • Patent number: 7648032
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method of reductively bleaching a mineral slurry comprising adding in the mineral slurry an effective amount of a formamidine sulfinic acid (FAS) and an effective amount of a borohydride to reductively bleach the mineral slurry, compositions comprising a mineral slurry, a FAS, and a borohydride, and final products comprising a mineral obtained by the method disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 5670470
Abstract: A process for stabilising percarbonate by coating with a coating agent. The percarbonate particles are treated with a concentrated aqueous solution containing at least one boron compound selected from the metal and ortho boric acids and at least one phosphate. Water is removed to provide the coated percarbonate particles which are useful in bleaching and washing compositions.

  • Patent number: 4629603
Abstract: A liquid borate is added to sulfur trioxide-containing combustion gases at a temperature of from about 250.degree. to about 1000.degree. F. in a boiler or other furnace system. The borate neutralizes sulfuric acid in the gases and inhibits sulfuric acid corrosion and deposition on metal surfaces of the system that contact the gases. An organic deposit modifying agent such as sorbitol and an additional acid neutralizing agent such as an alkali metal hydroxide, aluminate, or silicate may also be added to the combustion gases.

  • Patent number: 4215097
Abstract: Abrasion resistant granules of sodium perborate monohydrate are made by introducing an aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide and an aqueous solution containing sodium metaborate simultaneously into a fluidized bed dryer which contains seeds of a size smaller than that of the desired granules. At least one surface active agent is introduced into at least one of the aqueous solutions containing hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate. Water present in the aqueous solutions is evaporated by fluidization gas which is introduced into the fluidized bed dryer. The process produces, in one stage, granules of sodium perborate monohydrate having a high rate of dissolution, good flowability, abrasion resistance, and other desirable properties.
