Patent number: 8961958Abstract: A method and composition are presented for enhancing the dissolution and bioavailable properties of CoQ10 nutritional supplements and/or therapeutic agents for a human being and other mammals. The method includes preparing an anhydrous self-microemulsifying base composition by combining: CoQ10, a water-immiscible, and a non-ionic surfactant, containing polyethylene glycol. For an orally administered CoQ10 nutritional supplement in a capsule formulation, a unit dosage from the composition is added to a dissolvable capsule, preferably a soft gelatin capsule, in order to form the nutritional supplement. When a capsule containing the self-microemulsifying composition enters the digestive tract, the temperature of the body's digestive juices warms the composition, causing any of the CoQ10 that may have re-crystallized out of the composition to become re-dissolved into the composition before the capsule dissolves. The re-dissolution of CoQ10 is bioavailable when the capsule dissolves.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2004Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: Bioavailability, IncInventors: Steven B. Patent number: 8617317Abstract: Renewable, non-volatile cleaning compositions incorporating ethyl ester solvents are disclosed. Preferred compositions employ non-volatile C8-16 ethyl ester solvents. All-purpose cleaning compositions incorporating the non-volatile C8-16 ethyl ester solvents, further include an alkyl polyglycoside surfactant, an alcohol ethoxylate surfactant, and water. Preferably the compositions are free of anionic, cationic and amphoteric surfactants and/or co-solvents. The invention also discloses methods employing the non-volatile solvent all-purpose cleaning compositions.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2012Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Ecolab USA Inc.Inventor: Mark Dennis Levitt

Patent number: 8609697Abstract: An aqueous-based composition which includes a) at least one bispyridinium alkane (for example octenidine) and b) at least one stabilizer selected from antioxidants, complexing agents, reducing agents, UV filters and photoprotective agents, in particular ?-tocopherol, and BHT. The composition can also include c) one or more auxiliaries selected from, for example, nonionic surfactants, ethers, solvents and polymers, in particular fatty alcohol alkoxylates and alkoxylated fatty acid monoglycerides. The presence of the stabilizer reduces or prevents the appearance of decomposition products of bispyridinium alkanes and, in the case of the presence of auxiliaries, of decomposition products of the auxiliaries, such as ethers and peroxides.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2009Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Air Liquide Sante (International)Inventors: Wolfgang Beilfuss, Andreas Dettmann, Sabine Behrends, Mona Golombiewski, Thomas Spuida, Elke Kassens

Patent number: 8586012Abstract: A body wash composition includes sunscreen or UV screen materials. The body wash composition is formulated so that it may be applied during normal hygiene activities, such as washing. However, the composition applies an effective level of sunscreen or UV screen material to the body such that the sunscreen or UV screen continues to provide effective solar protection even after rinsing or washing of the human body. Further, the material is a non-greasy, easy to apply material that may be used during showering activities in a manner similar to using a bar soap or cleanser. The composition includes a variety of materials that assist in the processing and storage of the body wash. Effective amounts of solar protective material include octyl methoxycinnamate, octyl salicylate, and titanium dioxide. Testing shows that the product provides a solar protective level of at least approximately 14 even after multiple rinsings. Further embodiments have achieved a solar protective level of at least approximately 17.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2010Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Solise LLCInventors: Michael Phillip Doyle, Royce Dale Lillard, II, Royce Dale Lillard, III, Richard J.
