Abstract: Extract and/or fraction from Cinnamomum burmanii (DLBS2411) related to its extraction method and its biological activities show activities as antiulcer by conferring mucoprotection and down-regulating H+/K+ ATPase. Treatment with DLBS2411 decreases the H+/K+ ATPase mRNA level in HEK 293 and gastric parietal cells. In addition, DLBS2411 inhibits activity of H+/K+ ATPase gastric enzyme wherein pH influences this inhibition mechanism. DLBS2411 also has characteristic as antioxidant which is shown by the increase of reducing power as the given dosage increases.

Abstract: An anesthetic and therapeutic composition for use in aquaculture includes an essential oil preferably thyme oil that is mixed with ethanol in an amount of one part essential oil preferably thyme oil to five parts ethanol. The essential oil ethanol mixture is then dispersed in water preferably seawater to provide 10 to 60 ppm of essential oil. The oxygen in the composition is between about 5.00 and 6.5 mg/L and in a preferred embodiment is enhanced by an agar stabilizer. The invention also contemplates treating fish such as sheam and sobaity and shrimp and seahorse to reduce stress and maintain a temperature of about 20°-27° C.

Abstract: Weight loss compositions and systems are disclosed that may include various combinations of essential oils and other components, which may be effective in promoting weight loss. Some implementations may include a fat blocker, a filler component, an insulin sensitizer, and a fat growth suppressant. In some instances, the fat blocker may include a carotenoid. In other instances, the fat blocker may be selected from the group consisting of fucoxanthin and punicic acid. A weight loss composition may include a first component and a second component, wherein the combination of the first and second components may be effective in promoting weight loss. The first element may include a fat blocker, a filler component, and a first insulin sensitizer. The second element may comprise a fat growth suppressant and a second insulin sensitizer.
