  • Patent number: 6113839
Abstract: A modular, vacuum formed, unitary vanity which extends from floor to the ceiling, or near the ceiling. Alternatively, the vanity extends upwardly from the counter top level to the ceiling. The vanity is vacuum formed of a single piece of formable material, such as acrylic. The vanity has no joints or seals to deteriorate with use and time or to collect dirt. The modular and unitary vanity fits within a void formed in a wall during construction. The device is substantially maintenance free in ordinary use. The vanity is vacuum formed from a single piece of formable material using a vacuum form mold. The mold is a break apart mold which allows the vanity to be removed from the mold without interference from the sink bowl which is formed in the vanity.

Abstract: Injection mold comprising at least two mold sections (2, 3) between which a mold cavity is delimited. One (3) of the mold sections is provided with an ejector (42) for removing the product after injection molding. The other mold section (2) is provided with a gate (5). This bush (8) is constructed to be movable to a limited extent relative to the mold section (2) in which the other part (5) of the gate is made. As a result the sprue can be pulled away from the article in a guaranteed manner. The movement of the bush (8) is controlled by a jack (16, 17). Consequently, controlled breaking of the sprue is possible and the advantage arises that, by releasing the pressure on the jack (16, 17), no force has to be overcome when the mold is closed.

  • Patent number: 5234329
Abstract: An angle pin assembly for use in an injection mold having a cam slide. The angle pin assembly includes a bushing and an angle pin. The bushing is received in a bore that is made perpendicular to the planar surface of a cavity retaining plate. This perpendicular bore can be made using a CNC machine so that all machining can be completed on a single machine. The bushing includes an angled bore for receiving an angle pin. The angled bore in the bushing is aligned with an angled pin receiving opening in the cam slide so that normal movement of the mold when opening and closing results in lateral movement of the cam slide away from and toward the molded part.

  • Patent number: 5221542
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for making an electrochemical cell solid electrolyte holder. A layer of solid electrolyte powder or its precursor is formed around an externally screw threaded mandrel. The powder is pressed to form the holder in a green state with internal threads formed by the mandrel. The mandrel is screwed axially out of the green holder, after which the green holder is sintered. In the apparatus there is a mandrel which has external threads, and a flexible sheath. The mandrel is receivable in the sheath to provide an annular space around the mandrel for receiving a powder to be isostatically pressed by the sheath. The space is provided between the sheath and a mould, but can, instead, be provided between the mandrel and sheath, or between two sheaths between the mould and mandrel.

  • Patent number: 5204126
Abstract: A film forming composition including a film forming substance having amphiphilic molecules and being dispersed in a gel-like carrier having a non-liquid state below about 20.degree. C. The carrier stabilizes the film forming substance, and inhibits diffusion of moisture and oxygen into the composition. This minimizes deterioration of the film forming substance, and also minimizes undesirable formation of agglomerations of such substance. When the composition is applied to a surface, an ultra thin substantially continuous film of substantially uniform thickness forms spontaneously and attaches to the surface. The excess composition is then washed away.

  • Patent number: 5190773
Abstract: A composite mold that facilitates the fabrication, in a single curing step, of composite articles having opposing sets of stiffening members disposed in combination with a main structural panel. The composite mold provides for simultaneous co-curing of the opposed stiffening members in combination with the main structural panel. The composite mold includes a rigid mold assembly and a "T" mold assembly, which, in combination, define a rigid lay-up surface for the prepreg laminates forming the main structural panel. The rigid mold assembly includes rigid members that act as reactive surfaces for cure pressures, and removable end and wedge members for assembling/disassembling of the rigid mold assembly, "T" mold assembly combination. The "T" mold assembly is operative during the cure process to generate the pressure required to cure the legs of one set of the stiffening members.
