Abstract: This invention relates to a cleaning device comprising a cleaning composition and a substrate. The cleaning composition comprises an absorbent particulate, a binding agent, and optionally, a thickening agent. The cleaning composition may be applied to a substrate, such as a textile substrate, by applying the composition to at least one portion of the surface of the substrate or by incorporating the composition throughout the substrate. The absorbent particulate generally exhibits a high affinity for particles, color, grease, oil, and other staining materials and is a soft material which allows for gentle cleaning of most surfaces without detrimentally abrading and scratching soiled surfaces. The absorbent particulate also serves as an indicator providing a visual cue of its cleaning efficacy and may be used in either a wet or dry state.

  • Publication number: 20110183071
Abstract: It is disclosed an over-coating agent for forming fine patterns which is applied to cover a substrate having photoresist patterns thereon and allowed to shrink under heat so that the spacing between adjacent photoresist patterns is lessened, with the applied film of the over-coating agent being removed to form fine patterns, further characterized by comprising a water-soluble polymer which contains a monomeric component and a dimeric component, wherein the total content of the monomeric component and the dimeric component in the water-soluble polymer is reduced to 10 mass % or less, and a method of forming fine patterns using the same. By the present invention, even in reducing the pattern size on a substrate having thereon patterns having different pitches, the heat shrinkage of the over-coating agent can be controlled, irrespective whether the pitch is dense or isolate, thus achieving the pattern size reduction.

Abstract: A dichroic coating can be applied to a glass window of an electronic device to enhance the cosmetic and aesthetic appeal of the device. Different processes can be applied to the glass window in combination with a dichroic coating. For example, a layer of ink can be applied to the glass window in addition to one or more layers of dichroic material. The material layers can cover any suitable portion of the glass. For example, the material layers can include holes or openings. As another example, the material layers can be constructed from several distinct shapes placed on the glass. In some cases, software applications can be used to define a desired color profile for a coating, and to retrieve a suitable combination of dichroic and other layers to provide the desired color profile.

Abstract: A blade is provided for a turbine engine that includes an exterior surface. The exterior surface includes a portion having a thermal barrier coating and an uncoated shelf adjacent to the thermal barrier coating without the thermal barrier coating. A cooling hole extends from an internal passageway through the exterior surface to an exit. A scarfed channel is recessed in the exterior surface and interconnected to the cooling hole at the exit. The scarfed channel extends to a blade tip end surface. The scarfed channel protects the cooling fluid exiting the cooling hole from secondary flows surrounding the blade that would otherwise mix with and disperse the cooling fluid. The scarfed channels also increase the surface area exposed to the cooling fluid to increase the heat transfer rate.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of manufacturing ceramic objects having glazed and unglazed surfaces and a multi-piece, selectively assembled ceramic object. The present disclosure overcomes the necessity of separately firing multi-piece ceramic objects, such as stoneware products, having both glazed and unglazed surfaces. In accordance with the present disclosure, a bowl having a fully glazed rim and a lid having at least a partially glazed rim can be fired with the lid in place covering the bowl. In this manner, more complete pieces can be fired over time resulting in greater throughput and energy savings. In addition, by firing the two pieces together, it is expected that there will be greater dimensional stability or less distortion than by firing the two pieces separately.

Abstract: A method for depositing a protective layer of material on a localized area on a substrate, such as a pattern of photo resist, includes forming a controlled environment around the substrate and positioning a hollow needle adjacent to the localized area on the substrate. A liquid comprising the material is directed through the hollow needle onto the localized area, so as to deposit a layer of the material on the localized area. The layer of material may act as a Z-contrast forming layer in TEM.

  • Patent number: 7851013
Abstract: A plurality of through holes having an equal size are formed in an underlay substrate. Positions of the plurality of through holes are suitably set according to the shape of a substrate sheet. Specifically, an equal number of through holes are formed in each of end blank corresponding regions that, when the substrate sheet and the underlay substrate are overlapped with each other, overlap with end blank regions of the substrate sheet, of the underlay substrate. In addition, the through holes are formed at equal spacing in portions excluding the end blank corresponding regions in a blank corresponding region, which overlaps with a blank region of the substrate sheet, of the underlay substrate.

  • Patent number: 7851011
Abstract: Electrodes for a fluorine gas discharge laser are disclosed which may comprise a crown straddling the centerline axis between the pair of side walls and the pair of end walls, comprising a first material, forming at least a portion of the discharge region of the electrode; the crown in traverse cross section having the shape of the upper half of a canted ellipse rotated in the preionizer direction, such that a tangent to the short centerline axis of the ellipse forms an angle with the horizontal. Another embodiment may comprise an anode blade having a top portion and a first and second sidewall portion each intersecting the top portion; the anode blade being formed with the shape in cross section of the top portion being curvilinear and intersecting the generally straight potions of each of first and second sidewall portions along a radius of curvature and with the top portion beveled away from an asymmetric discharge side of the anode.

  • Patent number: 7846495
Abstract: An inkjet head having a hydrophobic coating layer and a method of forming the hydrophobic coating layer on a surface of a nozzle plate of the inkjet head. The method includes filling a wax into a plurality of nozzles formed in the nozzle plate while coating the surface of the nozzle plate with wax, removing the wax from the surface of the nozzle plate, forming a hydrophobic coating layer on the surface of the nozzle plate, melting the wax filled in the nozzles, and removing portions of the hydrophobic coating layer covering the nozzles by discharging the melted wax through the nozzles using heat and/or pressure. Therefore, the hydrophobic coating layer is uniformly formed only on an outer surface of the nozzle plate, without forming the hydrophobic coating layer in an inner surface of the nozzles, thereby improving an ink ejecting performance of the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 7829003
Abstract: A mask is used to make an article having two or more layers. The layers are formed from either a paint or polyurethane elastomer composition. The article is made in a mold including a surface defining a mold cavity and having a first and second effect region. For the method, a mask is placed into the mold cavity adjacent the first effect region. Pressure is applied to the mask to retain the mask adjacent the first effect region. A first composition is applied into the mold cavity to form a first layer adjacent the second effect region. The mask is removed from the first effect region. A second composition is applied into the mold cavity to form a second layer adjacent the first effect region. Benefits of pressure applied to a mask are also realized when making the article from a preformed part using the mask outside of a mold.
