Publication number: 20140026455Abstract: A method of forming an elastic labeling band. The method includes covering a central portion of a web of tag material with a release agent, advancing the web of tag material longitudinally and disposing a layer of molten elastomer over the advancing web of tag material, including over the release agent on the central portion thereof. The layer of molten elastomer is disposed over the web of tag material so that the elastomer bonds only to those portions of the web not covered with the release agent. The method includes curing the elastomer to define, with the web bonded thereto, an advancing web assembly, and separating a longitudinal segment from the web assembly to define an elastic labeling band.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2013Publication date: January 30, 2014Inventors: Jeffrey Scott Maltas, Ronald G. Patent number: 8628824Abstract: A manufacture method for forming an antique color on a metal surface includes a metal surface treatment step, a first spraying step, a rubbing step, a second spraying step and a surface drying step. A paint used in the second spraying step is a color and light-permeable powder paint. Thus, a metal color, obtained after the rubbing step, and a color of the powder paint appear the antique color, such as an antique copper color or an antique silver color. Furthermore, the surface drying step homogenizes the powder paint and enhances protection and uniformity of the metal surface.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2011Date of Patent: January 14, 2014Inventor: Pi-Chu Li

Publication number: 20130316099Abstract: A stand-off is necessary to separate two glass lites (panes of glass) in a vacuum insulated glazing system. This stand-off must provide sufficient mechanical support to keep the lites apart despite one atmosphere pressure pushing the lites together. For systems that are designed with flexible edge seals, there will be movement of one lite relative to the other during diurnal cycling, and the stand-offs will therefore be scraped against at least one of the lite surfaces. Because many mechanically robust materials suitable for stand-offs have high friction, it is beneficial to apply a lubricant to the surface of the stand-off. However, it is also beneficial to adhere the stand-off to one lite during the manufacturing operation, and this need opposes the need for good lubricity. This invention describes means for optimizing the composition of a stand-off to meet these conflicting needs.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2013Publication date: November 28, 2013Applicant: EVERSEALED WINDOWS, INC.Inventors: SETH A.
