Abstract: A manufacturing process is disclosed that allows molded planar products such as solid interior and entry doors to be produced by molding lignocellulosic and cellulosic composite materials. The doors can be manufactured by compressing and heating a layered mixture of fine wood particles blended with thermo-set molding resins and coarse wood particles blended with thermo-set binding resins between two open molds. The molded door is then removed from between the molds and trimmed to the finished size.

Abstract: A multi-plenum structural panel having a top sheet, a middle sheet, and a bottom sheet, each sheet being parallel to the other two. A first plurality of spacing structural elements, fixedly attaches the top sheet to the middle sheet. A second plurality of spacing structural elements fixedly attaching the middle sheet to the bottom sheet, such that a yield strength of an assembled multi-plenum structural panel is greater than a sum of individual yield strengths of the top, the middle, and the bottom sheets. An upper plenum is defined by a spacing between the first sheet and the second sheet. A lower plenum is defined by a spacing between the second sheet and the third sheet. The plurality of spacing structural elements is formed such that a plurality of spaced apart unobstructed pathways are created in each plenum for air to move from at least one edge of the multi-plenum structural panel to at least one of an opposite and an adjacent edge of the multi-plenum structural panel in each plenum.

  • Patent number: 8647749
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide multi-ply platforms suitable for the manufacture of decorative panels and decorative panels incorporating such multi-ply platforms, which multi-ply platforms improve the resistance to deformation caused by changes in relative humidity and/or temperature of, or around, such decorative panels. This object is achieved by providing multi-ply platforms comprising a plurality of plies which are arranged so that the platform is substantially unbalanced around its central plane. The unbalanced platform is achieved by, arranging the plies such that at least two adjacent plies have substantially the same main grain direction and/or that two plies having substantially the same main grain direction are separated only by one or more neutral plies. These unbalanced platforms are intended to be bonded to a further ply to form a substantially balanced decorative panel.

Abstract: A bamboo board of the present invention is produced by preparing a plurality of square tubular bodies fabricated by cutting a surface layer of tubes that form bamboo rods so that the cross sectional surfaces that are orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the bamboo rods have two groups of two parallel facing surfaces, aligning the plurality of square tubular bodies parallel to one another, and gluing facing cut surfaces of the plurality of square tubular bodies in place by means of a first adhesive agent. The bamboo board is produced as a tube without splitting bamboo rods or cutting and shaping an arc-shaped bamboo material into a planar shape in a conventional method is a light-weight board having a sufficient strength, due to less deformation such as warping when using bamboo shaped into a planar configuration and use of a natural hollow structure of bamboo.
