    Abstract: Recessed adhesive binding systems and methods of making same. One system can include a sheet having front and rear surfaces, and an adhesive on the rear surface. The sheet can include at least one opening and at least one folded section. The at least one folded section can include a first and second portion of the sheet separated by a fold. At least one of the first portion and the second portion of each folded section can include at least one opening, such that when the rear surfaces of the first and second portion are adhered together, the adhesive is exposed across the at least one opening and recessed from the front surface of the sheet, forming at least one recessed adhesive zone. One method can include forming at least one opening through the sheet, and folding the sheet to form at least one folded section.
