  • Patent number: 10889047
Abstract: Plastic containers exhibiting reduced plastic resin usage, while maintaining a specific gravity of below 1.0, so as to allow their quick and easy separation using floatation techniques during recycling. Within a layer or portion some of the plastic resin of the container body may be replaced with an inorganic mineral filler material, while within another layer or portion of the plastic container, the plastic material (e.g., polyethylene, polypropylene) may be foamed. The fraction of mineral filler material that may be included within the polyethylene may thus be increased beyond that previously possible while maintaining the specific gravity below 1.0, by also foaming a layer or portion of the polymeric material, so as to create voids therein. This allows significantly less resin material to be employed, while maintaining strength characteristics of the plastic container so as to be at least comparable to existing plastic containers not including such mineral filler materials.

Abstract: A porous three-dimensional structure of polytetrafluoroethylene was created featuring an enhanced ability of soft tissue ingrowth, or, in the second embodiment, combining the properties of an enhanced ability of soft tissue ingrowth with a barrier for the deposition of the living tissue cells. In the first embodiment of the porous three-dimensional structure of polytetrafluoroethylene it contains the open through pores and the blind pores, uniformly distributed over the inner surfaces of the open pores and connected therewith, and is made of mixture of the free-flow polytetrafluoroethylene having the granules sized from 100 to 300 microns, and the constraint-flow polytetrafluoroethylene having the granules sized up to 20 microns. In the second embodiment of the porous three-dimensional structure at least one surface of the three-dimensional body is provided with a barrier layer.

Abstract: Various embodiments, aspects and features of the present invention encompass a wine glass stem spacer configured to be coupled to, and decoupled from, a stemmed glass. An exemplary wine glass stem spacer is in the general form of a foam or soft rubber cylinder having a height that is substantially equivalent to the depth of a typical cup holder cavity. A stem receiving cavity may be bored through the spacer along a vertical axis and a vertical stem insertion slit may be cut from the outer surface of the spacer to the stem receiving cavity, thereby providing for coupling of the spacer around the stem of a wine glass. Advantageously, when an embodiment of the spacer is coupled to the stem of a certain wine glass, the wine glass may be protected from tilting when placed in a cup holder cavity.

Abstract: Provided is a resin panel produced such that the positioning of a reinforcing material can be precisely done, rattling movement is prevented and distortion by molding shrinkage is not caused because the reinforcing materials are maintained in the foam. A resin panel is a hollow double-wall structure including a front wall, a back wall and a peripheral wall joining the front wall and back wall together. The peripheral wall of the resin panel has a welded part on its entire periphery. Within a hollow part is inner packed a foam made of a thermoplastic resin that is formed in advance in the substantially the same shape as the shape of the space within the hollow part. The foam is welded on the inner wall faces of the front wall and back wall of the resin panel. In the foam are formed accommodation parts for accommodating reinforcing materials. The reinforcing materials are lengthwise. The foam intervenes between the ends of both of the reinforcing materials and the peripheral wall.
