  • Patent number: 11110693
Abstract: The invention provides a laminate in which a fluororesin layer and a rubber layer are firmly bonded to each other and the fluororesin layer has low fuel permeability and is less likely to suffer solvent cracking. The laminate includes a rubber layer (A) and a fluororesin layer (B). The fluororesin layer (B) contains a copolymer containing a chlorotrifluoroethylene unit, a tetrafluoroethylene unit, and a perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether unit. The copolymer contains 96.0 to 97.4 mol % of the chlorotrifluoroethylene unit and the tetrafluoroethylene unit relative to all the monomer units constituting the copolymer and 2.6 to 4.0 mol % of the perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether unit relative to all the monomer units constituting the copolymer.

  • Patent number: 9395166
Abstract: An arrow shaft with a double wall, which decreases physical oscillation during the initial travel of the arrow. The arrow shaft with a double wall preferably includes an inner shaft tube and an outer shaft tube. The outer shaft tube has a normal length of an arrow shaft. The inner shaft tube has a tensile modulus, which is greater than the tensile modulus of the outer shaft tube. The oscillation of the inner shaft tube will restrict the oscillation of the outer shaft tube and thus reduce oscillation of the arrow shaft with a double wall. An arrow insert includes a tubular shaft and a shoulder. An outer diameter of the tubular shaft is sized to be received by an inner diameter of the inner shaft tube. A second embodiment of the arrow shaft with a double wall includes a dual step arrow insert.

  • Patent number: 9226994
Abstract: The present invention discloses an interventional medical device and methods of making the same. At least one coating layer is disposed on the outer surface of the interventional medical device and the material of the outmost layer of the coating layer is a sulfonate group-containing polymer. In the present invention, the material of the outmost layer of the interventional medical device is a sulfonate group-containing polymer. The polymer is endowed with a same surface property as that of heparin in addition to appropriate hydrophilicity due to the presence of the sulfonate group. After the interventional medical device is implanted into the human body, a hydrophilic surface is formed on the outer surface of the interventional medical device which is also negatively charged in the body fluid. Therefore, cells can easily adhere and grow on the outer surface thereof as a result of the enhanced cell compatibility.

  • Patent number: 9090769
Abstract: Polymer compositions are described that contain at least two different immiscible phases for producing molded articles having a swirl-like or marble-like appearance. The first phase, for instance, may contain one or more polyoxymethylene polymers. The second phase, on the other hand, contains one or more polymers that together have a melting point that is from about 5° to about 30° different than the melting point of the polyoxymethylene polymer. In one embodiment, the second phase may contain a thermoplastic elastomer, a glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate, or a polyamide and may have a melting point that is higher than the melting point of the polyoxymethylene polymer. The second phase is present in the polymer composition in relatively low amounts, such as in amounts less than about 5% by weight. The second phase can contain a high concentration of colorants that creates a contrast of colors when the molded article is produced.

Abstract: Disclosed is a high-pressure gas hose or storage vessel comprising at least one layer of a resin composition comprising (A) 1,2-diol in a side chain-containing vinyl alcohol-based resin, and (B) fluororesin having polar functional group capable of reacting with or forming hydrogen bond(s) with hydroxyl group. The gas-barrier layer comprising the resin composition has a favorable wettability of the interface between the component (A) and the component (B), and therefore the gas-barrier layer exhibits high level gas-barrier property without causing blister under the condition of high pressure of not only oxygen or air but also small molecule gas such as hydrogen. Furthermore, the gas barrier layer has superior flexibility and superior durability with respect to changes accompanying the supply and removal of high-pressure gas.
