Abstract: A weighing scale which includes a label printer for printing labels having a detachable portion. A label cassette is easily inserted or removed from the weighing scale. The label cassette is changed depending on the type of label to be printed. Standard labels can be printed, or labels having detachable portions along one side can be printed. The detachable portion can have merchandising information printed thereon including coupon information, advertising information, discounts, specials, and product information. The information on the label and detachable portions is easily edited by an operator at a control panel of the weighing scale. A conversational display is provided which allows easy editing and also allows specials, recipes, etc., to be displayed. A molded cover is provided to prevent moisture from entering the weighing scale without interfering with the operation of the weighing scale.

Abstract: An energy-beam-curable thermal-releasable pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet having, on at least one side of a base material, an energy-beam-curable thermo-expandable viscoelastic layer containing thermo-expandable microspheres and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer stacked in this order. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a thickness of about 0.1 to 10 ?m and can be formed from a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The energy-beam-curable thermo-expandable viscoelastic layer, on the other hand, can be formed from a tacky substance. The energy-beam-curable thermal-releasable pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet according to the invention has adhesion enough to withstand a carrying step of an adherend, causes neither winding up of the adhesive nor chipping upon cutting and facilitates peeling and collection of cut pieces after cutting. In addition, it exhibits low contamination on the adherend after peeling.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a display strip to hold commodity-containing bags. It can facilitate to make a process of attaching the bags thereto automate. It enables commodity-containing bags to be removed therefrom without having their appearance degraded. The display strip according to the present invention is utilized to hold and align a plurality of commodity-containing bags vertically for the display. It comprises at least a substrate layer and a sealant layer with the sealant layer containing an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and an adhesive promoting tackifier.

A separate layer of primer may be applied to the facestock to cover substantially an entire side of the facestock. A plurality of such labels may be provided on a web of release liner which has been formed into a roll. The label may be applied to a container and the raised portions of the label provide tactile feel which enhances the aesthetic qualities of the label and container.

A half-cut is provided in the image receiver sheet.

Abstract: A label assembly comprises a support sheet of a paper material defining opposite surfaces, an adhesive coating applied to one side of the support sheet, and a printing paper defining opposite front and rear surfaces. The rear surface of the printing paper is releasably fixed to the support sheet in facial contact therewith through the adhesive coating and the printing paper is divided into individual paper labels or paper tags which are individually removable from the support sheet. The label assembly constitutes a label assembly which is readily printable in a laser jet or any similar printing machine such as an ink jet printer or a typewriter which label system consequently rendering it possible to provide a printing on a specific label for identifying a lever arch file or ring binder by means of the label assembly.

A transfer sheet is attached to a convex side of the dial members, and a release sheet is attached to its bonding agent side to form a dial label. When this dial label is attached to a dial base, the release sheet is peeled off and the dial label is attached to the dial base. The transfer sheet is peeled off together with the excess of the bonding agent, and then the bonding agent is cured by a curing agent. Since the bonding agent in the peripheral portions of the dial members is cured while bonding force is maintained, there is no adherence of fine particles of foreign matter, and a satisfactory appearance can be obtained.

A polyfilm patch is adhered over the card area and over the card information printed thereon. A thin flexible patch of magnet material is adhesively secured on a rear face of the paper sheet and extends over the card area. A die-cut is made in the sheet and delineates the contour of the card area and extends through the polyfilm patch, the paper sheet and partly into the patch of magnet material to form a burstable region along said die-cut to hold the card in the carrier sheet. The die-cut can have any ornamental shape.

The optional character is chosen from among characters capable of input as character elements in lines of input characters. Line types for upper ruling and lower ruling can also be designated, thereby effecting dot development depending upon the designated types of lines.

Abstract: Manufacture of stacked microelectronic devices is facilitated by producing subassemblies wherein adhesive pads are applied to the back surfaces of a plurality of microelectronic components in a batch fashion. In one embodiment, an adhesive payer is applied on a rear surface of a wafer. A plurality of spaced-apart adhesive pads are defined within the adhesive layer. Each adhesive pad may cover less than the entire back surface area of the component to which it is attached. A mounting member (e.g., dicing tape) may be attached to the adhesive layer and, in some embodiments, the adhesive layer may be treated so that the mounting member is less adherent to the adhesive pads than to other parts of the adhesive layer, easing removal of the adhesive pads with the microelectronic components.

Abstract: The present invention provides a filament-bearing tape comprising an adhesive substrate that is releasably adhered to a surface to be coated and a filament releasably adhered to an edge of the substrate that is used to trim the applied coating. The invention further provides a method of trimming the coating comprising applying a masking material to the surface to be coated and a filament of material of sufficient tensile strength to cut the coating material, allowing the coating material to dry or cure until it obtains sufficient strength to hold a cut edge and drawing the filament through to form the cut edge. Finally, the present invention provides an apparatus for making a filament bearing tape comprising means for folding an adhesive substrate along a predefined line, applying a filament to the interior of the fold and closing said fold to retain said filament at the edge of the tape.

The die cut base paper layer, adhesive layer and breakaway layer comprise an information card wherein the breakaway layer has a greater affinity for the adhesive layer than the top surface of the primary film layer such that when the information card is removed from the form, the breakaway layer stays adhered to the bottom surface of the base paper layer.

A method of manufacturing partially-secured labels includes the steps of delaminating a stock material, deactivating strips of an adhesive layer, and relaminating the stock material.
