Abstract: A laminate (C) of a thermoplastic polymer composition comprising: a thermoplastic resin composition (A) having an permeation coefficient of 10×10?12 cc·cm/cm2·sec·cmHg or less, laminated with a thermoplastic polymer composition (B) having a melt viscosity of 500-2000 Pa·s and a Young's modulus at a room temperature of 1-400 MPa, wherein the thickness of a layer of the thermoplastic resin composition (A) is 0.05-10 ?m and the air permeation coefficient of the laminate (C) of 20×10?12 cc·cm/cm2·sec·cmHg or less, and a pneumatic tire using the above laminate (C) as an inner liner.

Abstract: An improved backsheet used in the construction of solar panels is disclosed. A method of manufacturing the backsheet and solar panel comprising the backsheet, including coextrusion processes are also disclosed. Additionally, a photovoltaic solar panel module comprising the backsheet of the invention is disclosed. The backsheet of the instant invention may comprise an exterior layer having inner and outer surfaces, a middle layer, having inner and outer surfaces, and an interior layer having inner and outer surfaces. In one embodiment of the invention, the outer surface of the middle layer may be adjoined to the inner surface of the exterior layer, and the inner surface of the middle layer may be adjoined to the outer surface of the interior layer. The exterior layer, middle layer, and interior layer may be adjoined via a co-extrusion process, thereby eliminating the need for the use of adhesives for bonding the layers of the backsheet together.
Abstract: To provide a multilayer structure having high gas bather property and crack resistance as well as excellent fatigue resistance, an inner liner for a pneumatic tire using the multilayer structure, and a pneumatic tire comprising the inner liner. Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is directed generally to a polymeric film that comprises at least one laser imageable marking layer. The marking layer comprises a non-polyolefin component (such as polyamide, polyester, and/or polystyrene) and a photochromatic pigment. Abstract: A new class of poly(beta-amino alcohols) (PBAAs) has been prepared using combinatorial polymerization. The inventive PBAAs may be used in biotechnology and biomedical applications as coatings (such as coatings of films or multilayer films for medical devices or implants), additives, materials, excipients, non-biofouling agents, micropatterning agents, and cellular encapsulation agents. When used as surface coatings, these PBAAs elicited different levels of inflammation, both in vitro and in vivo, depending on their chemical structures. The large chemical diversity of this class of materials allowed us to identify polymer coatings that inhibit macrophage activation in vitro. Furthermore, these coatings reduce the recruitment of inflammatory cells, and reduce fibrosis, following the subcutaneous implantation of carboxylated polystyrene microparticles. These polymers may be used to form polyelectrolyte complex capsules for cell encapsulation.

Abstract: New compositions and methods of using those compositions as bonding compositions for temporary wafer bonding are provided. The compositions are used to temporarily bond an active wafer to a carrier wafer or substrate in microelectronic fabrication using an in situ polymerization reaction of the components of the bonding composition to yield the bonding layer. The compositions form polymerized bonding layers that are mechanically strong and thermally resistant, but allow the wafers to be separated at the appropriate stage in the fabrication process. The bonding layer also retains its solubility so that residue can be cleaned from the debonded wafers using simple wet methods rather than etching or other harsh treatments.

Abstract: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel in which liquid crystal is held in a cell between a first substrate and second substrate opposed to each other, an illumination device which is placed on a side of the first substrate of the liquid crystal panel; a polarization layer containing a dichroic dye that has lyotropic liquid crystal properties which is formed by application on a surface of the first substrate of the liquid crystal panel that is opposite from the liquid crystal; and a condenser lens which condenses light from the illumination device to an interior of the cell, and/or a resin layer which protects the polarization layer, which are disposed on a top surface of the polarization layer.
