Abstract: A bedbug protective coaster device supports a furniture leg of an article of furniture thereon. The device includes a body comprising a base member, a first annular wall and a second annular wall formed integrally with one another such that the furniture leg can be supported on a central area of the base member. The first and second annular walls surround the central area to define an annular space between the walls arranged to contain an insect barrier fluid therein. The integral body further includes an annular crevice formed in the body so as to surround the second annular wall. The annular crevice is arranged to receive a pesticide rated only for cracks and crevices therein. The device thus allows bedbug pesticides rated for cracks and crevices to be used in a barrier location between the floor and an article of furniture such as a bed.

  • Patent number: 7937886
Abstract: A spill resistant insect bait station designed for secure anchorage to the ground is disclosed as having a generally hollow main body defining an internal reservoir for containing a flowable, preferably liquid, bait contained therein. The main body is preferably fabricated from plastic via a blow molding process that includes the steps of filling and sealing. By removing a seal, an access opening is provided at ground level in proximity to the base and an access tunnel guides insects to an opening at the top of the bait station. At top opening on the opposite side of the bait station relative to the access opening allows insect access to the internal reservoir while rending the bait station inherently spill resistant. The inner wall of the main body includes a spiral ramp leading downward to provide insects with access to liquid bait contained therein.

  • Publication number: 20110088310
Abstract: A fully adjustable, crawling insect bait station is provided that is sealable for use with liquid, gel or solid baits, and wherein movement of a cap relative to a base portion simultaneously dimensions both the insect access port(s) and an internal crawlspace at the top of the inner reservoir wall to a selected size for particular insects. The bait station of the present invention is distinct and significantly improved over prior bait stations in that there is no antechamber between the insect access port(s) and the inner bait reservoir where crawling insects may unproductively congregate. Once insects enter the bait station of the present invention they encounter a sloped access means that leads them directly over the inner reservoir wall to the poisoned bait.

Abstract: A rodent station includes a base with an entrance point and an exit point to allow a rodent to access the station. A hinged cover may be coupled to the base for housing an indicator device. The indicator device may be configured to show an operator that activity, such as capturing a rodent, has occurred within the rodent station. A killing device may be disposed in the base and configured to activate the indicator device upon being triggered by a rodent. The killing device may include an arm that rotates when triggered by the rodent. In one exemplary embodiment, a portion of the arm may contact a portion of the indicator device, resulting in an alert portion protruding from the cover of the rodent station, thereby indicating the triggering of the killing device. The indicator device may be, for example, a spring-loaded pop-up device or a rotating flag device.

  • Patent number: 7913449
Abstract: A liquid-lure dispenser that provides long-time uniform emission of an attractant that entices insects or other organisms into a trap, consists of a wick that absorbs the liquid lure from its container and gradually emits the lure to the atmosphere from the exposed portion of the wick. The tubular container holds the desired quantity of lure and has an opening that holds the wick securely in place, with the lower part of the wick immersed in lure and the upper part exposed to air; lure-emission rate can be adjusted by area of wick exposed to air. An opening in the lure container permits lure to be added as needed and avoids an air-pressure drop in the lure container as lure is sucked up by the wick and volatilized. If desirable, insecticide or more than one lure may be released from a dispenser.

  • Patent number: 7647723
Abstract: A camouflaged termite-monitoring device is provided. Such a device comprises a housing (100) which defines a cavity (300) and an opening (400). A perforated bait cartridge (475) is disposed within the cavity and contains a bait material (450) adapted to be attractive to termites. A mesh-like member (500) is operably engaged with the housing so as to cover the opening and to retain the bait cartridge in the cavity. The mesh-like member is further adapted to allow termites to pass therethrough into the cavity and the bait cartridge and to infiltrate the housing. An inspection hatch (550) is operably engaged with the housing and is configured to allow visual inspection of the bait cartridge within the cavity from outside the housing. Such a visual inspection is performed without removing the housing from engagement with the upper ground surface. An associated method is also provided.

Abstract: The exterior rodent bait station with lid-securing tool has a housing, a pivotally connected lid securable to the housing, and a hollow base removably attachable to the housing. The housing includes holes for entry of rodents attracted to poison bait disposed in the housing interior, the poison bait being secured within the unit by a pivotal bait member. A concrete paving block within the hollow base secures the bait station at its placement location. The bait station lid has a raised section for attachment of a numbered stencil to show placement order of multiple stations. Drainage holes are disposed in the bottom of the housing and sidewalls of the base. A hex lid fastener may be provided along with a push-pull gear-style driving tool to facilitate ease of fastening and unfastening the bait station lid.

  • Publication number: 20090272023
Abstract: The present invention provides for a novel, but simply structured pest control system that protects structures such as buildings and humans by providing a system that is selectively attached to the exterior of structures and/or to the surrounding perimeter of structures which creates a physical and chemical barrier where crawling insects and/or pests cannot survive without food and/or exposition to chemical agents such as pesticide. Alternatively the pest control system provides for the possibility that the crawling insects and/or pests agents may abandon the structure without exposition to the chemical agent, thus furthering an ecological homeostasis.
