Patent number: 11672239Abstract: Fishing tackle casting device mounts to fishing rod for casting fishing lure including housing having a groove, and a trigger mechanism including a U-shaped rod. The fishing tackle casting device mounts to the handle or fishing pole of the fishing rod. The fishing rod includes a line reel having line drawn from a line reel along the fishing pole. Line includes a fishing lure that locks to U-shaped rod through a groove causing the fishing pole to bend and store energy. The fishing pole may direct toward targeted area and the trigger mechanism actuation releases the fishing lure from U-shaped rod through the groove causing tension release of bent fishing pole, making fishing lure and line travel to targeted area. The trigger mechanism includes trigger support mechanism for connecting line from the line reel and helps control speed/release of tension on the line when the fishing lure is cast.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2020Date of Patent: June 13, 2023Inventor: Joe Crommett

Patent number: 5491924Abstract: A manually held instrument having an elongated tube containing a compressed spring unit, into which tube a sinker of a connected fishline is adapted to be entered into abutment with the compressed spring unit. A stop restraining expansion of the compressed spring unit is adapted to be finger released by the fishman; and, when the stop is released from the compressed spring unit, the latter forcefully expands to cast the abutting sinker and connected fishline an appreciable distance from the instrument into the water. A push-rod slidable in an elongated support mounted to the body of the instrument may be removed by the fishman and entered into the elongated tube to return the spring unit to its compressed condition restrained by the stop.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1994Date of Patent: February 20, 1996Inventor: Elias Athanasiadis

Patent number: 5421116Abstract: A gas powered fishing pole having a conventional reel and rod and a gas powered projection device having a firing chamber with an external end from which a projectile with a hook or lure attached is fired. The improvement comprising a gas projection device that is no more than one half the length of the fishing rod, yet in which the gas charge is generated by manual operation of a lever actuated piston mechanism and wherein the projection device is secured to a fishing rod by a plurality of attachment means, but in which no more than one such means is attached in proximity to the external end of the firing chamber.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1992Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Inventor: Andy Moon

Patent number: 5363584Abstract: A slingshot for use in shooting a fish line comprises a Y-shaped body having two arms, each of which is provided with a safety pin and an upper tip to which an end of an elastic band is fastened. The elastic band is provided at the midpoint thereof with a leather piece attached firmed, thereto. The Y-shaped body further has a bottom end fastened to a fastener which is in turn fastened to a fishing rod. The bottom end of the Y-shaped body is fastened to the fastener in a manner that the Y-shaped body can be so adjusted as to be placed in a position perpendicular to the fishing rod or in a position in which the Y-shaped body rests on the fishing rod. With the slingshot, an angler is able to hurl out a fish line, along with a fishhook, a sinker and a float, to hit an intended area of the water surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1993Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Inventor: Hsin-Hsin Lo

Patent number: 5342003Abstract: A spinning reel includes a pair of arms formed on a rotor disposed in a forward portion of a reel body. At least one of the arms carries an oscillatable arm, and a bail arm extends between the oscillatable arm and the other arm or an oscillatable arm attached to the other arm to be switchable between a line winding position and a line freeing position. A bail engaging element is formed on the oscillatable arm or a member oscillatable with the oscillatable arm. The bait engaging element is operable to hold a bait against a forward tension when the bail arm is set to the line winding position, and to release the bait forwardly when the bail arm is set to the line freeing position.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1991Date of Patent: August 30, 1994Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventors: Kenichi Sugawara, Takeshi Ikuta, Osamu Yoshikawa

Patent number: 5193298Abstract: A fishing rod apparatus is arranged with a first and second rod tube reciprocatably mounting a plunger therethrough. The second rod tube selectively utilizes spring or pneumatic pressure to direct the rod exteriorly through a forward end portion of the first tube. The forward end portion of the first tube is arranged to position a fishing line support such as a float to direct the associated fishing line to a desired target casting position relative to the rod structure.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1992Date of Patent: March 16, 1993Inventor: James A.
