Abstract: A line holder of integral construction and including a straight portion and a bent portion is secured to a fishing pole. The bent portion can accommodate either a looped end of the fishing line or a hook on the line. A segment of the straight holder portion can be flexed away from the pole and when in unflexed condition clamps fishing line in place on the pole between the distal end of the pole and the handle end.
Abstract: A leader wrap apparatus is presented for use in the sport of trolling fishing. It has two pairs of legs with fasteners situated on a first plane. Under the first plane are two sets of bars and connecting to the second plane. The leader wrap apparatus is constructed of a durable plastic, and is manufactured in bright colors to allow a user to easily view the leader wrap apparatus if it should come detached from a fishing pole during use. The leader wrap communicates with a fishing pole through use of the legs and fasteners. The bars are constructed to create a hollow section between the first and second sets of bars for holding lures or hooks, which are attached to the fishing line. The leader wrap apparatus allows the user to fish with a leader line as in trolling without entanglement of the two lines.
Abstract: A combination fishing rod sheath and lure accessory bag are shown. The sheath is formed of a pliable fabric material and has an initially open interior for receiving a shaft portion of a fishing rod. A wrap-around closure formed integrally with the sheath is used to secure the sheath about the rod. A lure accessory bag attaches to the rod handle on the side of the side opposite the reel. A rigged lure can be received within the accessory bag interior and retained in the interior by closing a mating hook and loop type engageable closure. By turning the lure handle to take up any slack, the closure can be used to keep the line taunt at all times.
Abstract: A safety device including a container having a hinged lid for safely retaining a fishing hook is provided. The safety device is of a generally truncated triangular shape and is provided with a hook retaining means internally in the base portion of the device for positively retaining the hook against inadvertent or accidental displacement or dislodgment when a fishing rod and fishing line to which the hook is attached are being transported or stored. A variety of retaining means are disclosed which act independently or in combination to maintain positive restraining of the hook by the retaining means. One form of the retaining means includes a pair of spaced apart posts, another form includes a pair of spaced apart inclined posts on either side of a third post which is oppositely inclined towards the posts on either side, whereas another form of the retaining means includes an open ended tube for receiving the posts when the device is in a closed condition.
