Lure Slidable On Line Patents (Class 43/42.05)
  • Patent number: 11330808
Abstract: Lure apparatus for fishing and associated methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, the lure apparatus includes (1) a head portion; (2) a tail portion; and (3) an optional weight portion. The head portion and the tail portion are operably engaged. The head portion has a center opening, which enables a fishing line or wire to pass through. The optional weight portion is positioned inside the head portion to adjust the weight of the overall lure apparatus. The head portion has two side openings. The tail portion has two arms, each of which has a protrusion configured to be positioned in a corresponding one of the two side openings of the head portion. Once the two protrusions are positioned in the side openings, the two protrusions engage with the head portion and restrain the tail portion from moving relatively to the head portion.

  • Patent number: 10993422
Abstract: Fishing lures that can mimic the movement of a fish or crustacean are described. The fishing lures can generate a vibrating action in water and can avoid snagging. In embodiments the fishing lures include a wire section, a blade section, and a main body section. The wire section that extends through one of a plurality of holes in the blade section to a side that faces the main body section. The wire section includes a bent portion, and the wire section extends from the bent portion through another of the plurality of holes of the blade section to the side that faces the main body section. When the fishing lure is pulled forward through water the blade section vibrates around the wire section.

  • Patent number: 10285390
Abstract: An artificial fishing lure has a stream-lined elongated body generally simulating a fish. The body has a cavity therein to receive a U-shaped member that is oriented to have two substantially parallel fins extending rearward outside of the body. The U-shaped member has a base and tab extending therefrom. The cavity is shaped to limit movement of the U-shaped member in an up and down rotational motion relative to the body. The body is formed from an upper body and a lower body. The U-shaped member is inserted into the cavity and the upper body and lower body are then affixed to one another. A method of constructing the lure is described.

Abstract: A fishing lure assembly includes: a skirt mount from which a shank extends, the skirt mount having a non-circular profile with a maximum width; a skirt including a plurality of strands and a collar with a non-circular opening having a maximum dimension that is greater than the maximum width of the skirt mount. The skirt can be installed upon the skirt mount by passing the skirt mount through the opening when the maximum width of the skirt mount is aligned with the maximum dimension of the opening. The skirt is maintained as installed upon the skirt mount when the maximum width of the skirt mount is rotated out of alignment with the maximum dimension of the opening.

  • Patent number: 9814223
Abstract: The various embodiments provide for a fishing lure configured to allow a fisherman to quickly change the body of the fishing lure without having to cut the line. In the various embodiments, the fishing lure may include two sides configured to fit around a center piece tied to a fishing line, whereby a fisherman may quickly changes the sides of the fishing lure by separating the sides from the center piece and assembling two other sides to the center piece. In further embodiments, the center piece may be positioned on the interior of the sides such that a portion of the fishing line is hidden within the fishing lure, thereby improving the fishing lure's presentation by attaching the fishing line to the fishing lure internally instead of to an external protrusion (e.g., a snap swivel) on conventional fishing lures.

Abstract: A tool and collar for affixing a multi-banded skirt to a fishing lure is disclosed. The collar includes a base member containing a central bore having a first portion with a first diameter and a second portion having a greater diameter. An outer annulus is contained on the collar for receiving a binder. The tool includes first and second mateable rods which receive the collar therebetween. Banded strands dispose on each rod in relation to the collar. The binder is positioned over each strand and disposed into the annulus to tie the strands to the collar. Opposing ends of each banded strand are cut to form the skirt. The collar and skirt are removed from the rods and positioned onto a lure with the first portion of the bore seating onto a retaining portion of the lure, and the second portion of the bore disposed about a flange thereof.

  • Patent number: 8898951
Abstract: A fishing lure includes a leading lure body shaped like a fish; and a trailing lure body shaped like a fish. The leading lure body includes a passage therethrough to enable a fishing line to slidably pass through the passage for connection to the trailing lure body. The trailing lure body includes a front portion and a curved front surface. The front portion of the trailing lure body is weighted such that the trailing lure body tends to sink front portion first in water. The curved front surface of the trailing fishing lure facilitates a swimming motion for the trailing lure body when the trailing lure body moves through water, and tends to lift the trailing lure body if the trailing lure body is pulled through water.

  • Patent number: 8474174
Abstract: An improved baited lure has a head section and a tail section so that when press fitted together an interior chamber with scent holes is formed for containing bait or scent and/or a rattle. A fish hook is attached to a leader that runs through holes in the head and tail sections so that, as the lure is moved through water, the two sections are held together. One section may have an air pocket for buoyancy when at rest, and a tether may be connected between the two sections so that, in the event the leader is broken, the lure rises to the surface of the water and, even if separated, both sections are retrievable.

  • Publication number: 20120017488
Abstract: A modular hook and lure system. The lure body includes a central passage running parallel to its longitudinal axis. The central passage passes completely through the lure body from its forward end to its aft end. The forward portion of the passage is a leader bore which is made large enough to accommodate the leader but not the hook. The aft portion of the passage opens into a hook bore, which can accommodate the eye and shank portion of a hook. The leader is passed completely through the passage and out the aft end of the lure body. It is then attached to a hook. The eye and shank portion of the hook is then pulled within the hook bore, so that only a portion of the hook extends beyond the lure body. A weed guard is attached to the body, with a free end of the weed guard extending out to the position of a hook tip, so that the free end of the weed guard may be engaged with the hook tip.

  • Patent number: 7874095
Abstract: A fishing lure has a body having a front end, a rear end, a top and a bottom. A hook is secured by a shank to the rear end of the body. A slot extends through the body from the top to the bottom. The slot at the top of the body is enlarged toward the front end and the slot at the bottom of the body is enlarged toward the rear end. A fishing line, is extended through the slot from the top to the bottom and secured to the shank of the hook. The body assumes a substantially linear orientation when the body is pulled forward by the line, such as when casting or trolling. The body enlarged slot results in the body pitching, such as to imitate a swimming motion during jigging.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for long line fishing and for recreational bait fishing that allows a fish to take a bait without having the hook simultaneously enter the fish's mouth. A fish is hooked by taking a hook-less bait and subsequent to the force exerted by the angler's line pull or the force generated by the fish swimming against a tight line, causes the hook to be drawn from outside the mouth and into the jaw area. The direction of hook set is opposite of conventional fishing given the hook is pulled towards the mouth and not from within the mouth cavity. The method and apparatus for attaching a bait to a line and not to a hook are equally applicable to the commercial long line fishery and the recreational fishery. The method promotes the reduction in bycatch and Bycatch mortality.

  • Patent number: 6675525
Abstract: A disposable, buoyant, scented fishing lure is formed of a soft, resilient, economically disposable plastic material, with a hollow chamber formed within the lure body. A fish attractant scent material and flotation element are placed within the lure body chamber. The float may be coated or otherwise treated with the scent material prior to installation within the lure, to install the scent material therein. The chamber, with the scent material and float installed therein, is then hermetically sealed to prevent escape of the scent therefrom. When the lure is to be used, the angler installs a fish hook therein and penetrates the scent and float chamber with the hook. This allows the scent material to be released gradually from the lure through the passages formed by the hook insertion in the lure. Once the scent material has substantially dissipated, the angler may discard the used lure for a fresh one.
